A few corrections to your otherwise excellent list, WM.

I really like DelGreco, who is masterful with the puck; unfortunately he is tiny, though still quite young. Galatz seems like a kid who should be snapped up by a college program in the near future.

Some of the names on the D scoring list are interesting, since they aren’t big offensive factors on their HS teams (Yakesh being a prime example).
Guessing some HS coaches may have reigns on some of the D or need them to match-up against other top guys. EL is a free for all really.

While watching the Elite League IIT streams this past weekend an announcer mentioned that Jared Wright (F, STA) has been offered scholarships from teams on the east coast.

For a brief break from the never-ending (albeit necessary) COVID debates, here are some recent recruiting events.

Jared Wright (STA) to Colgate
Tim Piechowski (EP ‘18/Bismarck) to St. Thomas
Jake Ratzlaff to Wisconsin football

Congrats to all three, though as a hockey fan I would have like to see Ratzlaff remain on the ice, even if it would have been for the dreaded Gophers.

Clearly Ratzlaff has not seen Wisconsin play a football game after week one.

Merry Christmas, y’all. There was a flurry of action this week with college commitments from 2020 grads, including a notable flip.

Remington Keopple (H-M ‘20/Des Moines) to Cornell

Will Magnuson (Chaska ‘20/Bismarck) to Bemidji State

Jake Boltmann (Edina ’20/Lincoln) flipped from Minnesota to Notre Dame

The Gophers getting a commitment from Ryan Chesley might have had something to do with this "flip". And they are already stacked at D with three guys playing for the World Junior team...

Also goalie Jack Stark from Chaska/USHL Chicago (played just 10th grade in 2018-19 I believe) committed to Yale last week.

Correction. That's the dreaded #1 RATED Gophers.

Mitchell Wolfe (Andover ‘20/Des Moines) to Bemidji State

Brett Chorske (Edina’19/St. Cloud NAHL) to Colorado College

Who’d a thunk it after he put up a bagel on the scoresheet as a junior and looked like a stork on skates. But being 6’6” and finally harnessing some of the raw talent over the past few years has transformed Chorske into a good player. CC continues to bring in Minnesotans by the bunch.

Missed this one a few days ago, but Brennan Boynton (Champlin Park ‘19/Fargo USHL) to Minnesota.

Fargo is stocked with Gopher recruits, with Broz and Braccini also on the roster.

I don’t think you’ll see much movement until the start of the commitment period for rising juniors on August 1. That class is stacked with guys like Plante, Shaugabay, Clark, and Moore who will have their pick of offers right off the bat.

Most of the current juniors and seniors who have yet to commit will probably have to prove themselves in juniors before offers are forthcoming. Perhaps a Cam Boche or Landon Parker receives an offer from a mid-tier program, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

I think you will have to wait and see how all the transfers are completed and teams know what/if they have needs to fill. With the NCAA granting an extra year of eligibility due to COVID, it has become a free agent frenzy in D-I hockey.

Would have thought so too

But then got a DM from usually reliable source that one higher profile kid will likely be announcing in next couple weeks . Will wait and see

Yeah, that is going to be an issue for the next few years. With the NCAA granting an extra year of eligibility, there is a glut of players already in the system, and it creates a trickle down effect through the junior ranks and even into high school. Quite a few committed players are parked in juniors for an additional year until college roster spots open up. Those USHL and even NAHL rosters are going to be tougher to crack for current seniors and juniors.

Curious for those in the know on the college side of things.. with a lot of new recruits committing to University of St. Thomas, some or many as soon as next season, what happens to the existing D3 players? SOL? Chance to “try out” or play their way onto the team?

Good questions. If Coach Blasi has a plan to merge his new recruits into the team's returning roster to the best of my knowledge it hasn't been made public. But if I had to guess I'd say most or nearly all of his new team will be comprised of his new recruits and players now in the D1 transfer portal.
