IMO, so dumb that MSHL would allow HS tournament play on Olympic ice. No one I am aware of plays on Olympic ice (besides Warroad) and Xcel obviously has NHL sized sheet. A bit ridiculous to me that any HS playoff game would ever be played on a totally different sized ice sheet. Was talking to some parents a couple weeks ago from EGF and they talked about the advantage this gives Warroad every 3rd year when they host sections. I think they have an argument. Utilize larger venues on neutral ice with NHL sheet for all semifinal - final playoff games.

Has there ever been a section final decided by a penalty shot before? Anyone at the game who can confirm that it was a legit call to have a penalty shot called?

Definitely a legit call. The refs put their whistles away for the last half of the game until that point. Miller made a great stretch pass to Best, BSM D lost his stick trying to defend it so he tackled Best as he drove for the net. Very obvious penalty shot.

I concur, the call was legit, really slick finishing move by Best. Limesand played a hell of a game, he was BSM best player tonight & gave them a chance
