I like the DEast pick, especially with last night, but you think they will get the nod at a seed even with Moorhead, who shut them out, making the tourney?

I hope they get the 4 or 5. They play a bit better against Edina than Tonka, and I would be OK with a rematch from last year if DE can even get past Andover.

If DE gets to play MG tonight & scores 4-5 goals, THEN I’d be more confident that the scoring problem has potentially been solved. Last night wasn’t all that meaningful regarding the playoffs, but felt good for the DE players. Superior played like ripe garbage last night, and the Hounds were more than happy to chew them upBut Andover is still the favorite in 7AA.

Orty has an interesting take on the AA tourney, but I don’t think East gets the 4 seed, let alone the 5 seed over Moorhead, who destroyed East and a 20-won Rosemount Team.

Considering they would be coming off of a win over Andover they could definitely get the 4.

Seeding at state takes on the characteristic of the coaches voting.
Assuming ALL are on the up and up and vote accordingly pagestat would be the logical means of predicting how they would vote:
1 Edina 6AA
2 Minnetonka 2AA
3 Blaine 5AA
4 Andover 7AA
5 STA 3AA

8AA Moorhead
4AA Hill
1 AA Lakeville South

If there is an upset the #2 in each section would still be considered higher than the next 3, EXCEPT Section 7AA DEast may be in trouble as they were beat by Moorhead (& Brainerd). At that point Moorhead would move to #5.
If a couple of #3's upset to get to the X then Moorhead and Hill could move up.

East is higher than Moorhead on Pagestat. A win over Andover would make it a much larger gap, especially since recent results are weighted heavier. Could/should push them ahead of STA, Rosemount for sure. Not sure how much stock the coaches will put on a road game in Mid January. They know how Randolph rolls. Give them the 4 so we can watch them beat Edina again!

I would think head to head would get a lot more weight than any single data driven system. I know some people on here think QRF has its flaws. To think Pagestat doesn’t have its own flaws wouldn’t make sense.

Those seem odd. Didn’t Blaine trounce Andover? And Duluth East has been pretty meh. No reason to give them anything higher than the 5 if they happened to be the only upset.

Andover has the most talent & the best record. But the most talented team doesn’t always advance to State, especially when they need to travel 150 miles on a school day while the other team is playing a HOME GAME (and that includes Cloquets 20 minute drive on occasion too)
