East 5-3 final E.N.
Rapids will play catch-up hockey seen this to many times in the finals.
Grand Rapids led 1-0 with 1:30 remainig in 2011 If they had just got someone to swipe the puck away then the T-Hawks would have won then. Their goalie played very well! !
But then we wouldn't have gotten to see the 3 OT games that East played that year in the State Tournament......especially the final with EP....where number 3 on East some how dodged 3 interference penalties.
That 2011 final still stings. But there was some relief in watching kyle rau leave East fans sick to their stomachs.

Those sound like the same refs from the 2013 final and the egregious no call checking from behind on Peterson.

Some interesting footnotes:
Last team to beat Greyhounds in section final? Cloquet 2002. Josh Johnson,a future Bulldog shut the Hounds down 1-O. Can't remember who scored the game winner for Cloquet.

Last team to beat Greyhounds in playoff Cloquet 2008. The "Dave Brown Game".
Last time Grand Rapids beat East in playoffs? 2007. T-Hawks beat hounds in ot. Did Patrick White score the game clincher?

I believe the answer to your two questions is "Mike Erickson" (a short handed goal, no less) and "Yes".

Yes he did. A preview to his epic State Tourney performance.

tough call probably going to be physical game- I hope the refs let them play and don't decide game. East had goal disallowed in 3rd period in first meeting -looked like questionable call.

Whites 2006 state tournament was far more epic than 2007.

Video highlights show it was a good call. Puck was at his shoulders when he deflected it and the kids was tall.

No poll? I'll say Rapids 3-2 in a nail biter.

I was going to add a poll but I must not have completed it. Hey, I'm old. :)

Karl or Lee can add one if they like though.

You are correct. Was thinking of 2006. You are one of the few who had a better view of things than me.

For those not able to attend it will be broadcast locally on WDIO. Does anyone know if there is also a stream for people out of the area?

I could possibly stream it from my house. Just film the tv telecast from my house and stream it over high school cube? I don't want to get thrown in jail though......
You won't just tell them your live streaming your tv ... it just happened to be on and televising the hockey game.

My head says East, but my heart says a city kid named Klatt will lead GR to the X.
