He was actually born in Grand Rapids. Then Babbitt recruited him away.Rocketwrister wrote:Babbitt-buzz Schneider
They moved back to Cloquet when he was in 3rd grade. He was born 15 miles from Cloquet and it's not where everyone thinks. 3 of 4 brothers were born in different cities. I guess I'd consider an import someone like Petrov or Novak or Pavlatos who came in high school.elliott70 wrote:Until he was about 12 he played in Intl Falls.gitter wrote:Care to elaborate? Langenbrunner was an import.
In Elliot's defense, there was probably a lot of 12 year old, 3rd graders back in the day.gitter wrote:They moved back to Cloquet when he was in 3rd grade. Just too easy.gitter wrote:They moved back to Cloquet when he was in 3rd grade. He was born 15 miles from Cloquet and it's not where everyone thinks. 3 of 4 brothers were born in different cities. That's a good list. I remember how long it took for Degrio to get from one end of the rink to the other. Not very long. The guy could flat out fly.mulefarm wrote:Hibbing-Bob Collyard, GR-Gary Degrio, TRF-Joey Poole, Anoka-Steve Alley, Coon Rapids-Ernie Vargas, Champlin Park-Bryce Macken, Andover-Chase Perry. He was from before my time so I had to look him up. I'm sure he was a good player but from what I saw I'd nominate Zane Gothberg over him.mulefarm wrote:TRF-Joey Poole
How about Donny Ross or Earl Anderson?UpNorthMom wrote:Roseau: Neal Broten, Aaron Broten, Bryan Erickson
Jared Festler right up there.hockey9011 wrote:Hanowski from Little Falls
He wasn't born there, and never played one season in MYHA. But you are correct, they did live there briefly.Section 8 guy wrote:If you are talking about careers as high school players I think the winning vote getter from Moorhead at the time would have been Ryan Kraft.
Oh, and Jamie Langenbrunner is actually from Moorhead......not Cloquet.
Or Karl Goehring.gitter wrote:Probably Erik Westrum from Apple Valley if it hasn't been mentioned earlier.
