Did they run the umbrella PP with only one defensemen?
OMG, 4 short handed goals in one game.

The last shorty was on a 6 on 4!!!!!' I hate to age myself, but I'he been watching WBL hockey since the 70's, worst coaching performance I've ever seen.

Best player you have ever seen play at WBL in that time? Curious.

Come on.... Did you see the quarterfinal game just a few years ago, against St. Paul Johnson when they had a 5-1 lead and lost!

5-1 lead with about 5 minutes to go.. How he managed the 3rd period last year against Stillwater in the section semi game was awful too. It's sad that I kinda wish the 2011 upset of Hill never happened.

Zach's summary of the state of the rivalry and last night's game are both spot on, augmented by stpauls's comments. Even while the series became lopsided, I marveled at the enthusiasm of the orange clad throngs, and they were still can't miss games. Going into separate conferences didn't diminish it one bit.
WBL hasn't been anything to shout about for the last few season. And last year's Hills squad was the first in a long time that made the tournament but was no threat to do any damage. This year doesn't look any better.
The rivalry really got it's start after Mariner closed in after 1982. I don't think they met in 1983, but there was a great semi-final at the Coliseum in 1984. And it only built from there. last night's game was the least compelling of any HM-WBL game since Mariner closed.
When Sagar's 2011 team beat HM in the section final, it was a terrible thing for WB hockey. Sagar would be gone by now if they'd lost that game.
