Eastis playing terrible. And Marshall is making them pay..
Anyone have the scores from 1990-1999 when these teams played?
Almost feels like Marshall has scored more tonight than they did in the previous 10 years

12/4/90--East 6-0
1/22/92--East 9-0
1/6/93--East 7-0
1/22/94--East 15-1
1/19/95--East 21-0
12/7/95--East 19-0
12/5/96--East 10-0
12/4/97--East 8-0
12/3/98--East 6-3
You asked for 1990- but I can go back to 1974-75 when it was Duluth Cathedral, if you want.
East has won the last 13 meetings since Cathedral beat them 6-1 on 2/2/87.

No the 90s games were good
I like remembering how good they once were!!
I actually left the game. First game ever since the 90s. Watching them tonight was frustrating. Nothing connected , rushed plays and shots, no team chemistry whatsoever , dumb penalties, poor goaltending, passes were more accurate to Marshall players than our own... The list goes on and on... Looked like a jv team out there.
They just look so inexperienced out there and it was actually hard to watch. Moreso than every other year since the decline after the 2011-2012 squad..

East will be East, 3 seed for Marshall. What would we be saying about East if ER didn't gag the 3-0 lead last year at Amsoil.

That's a game that will haunt the hounds come seeding time; section losses to Cloquet and now Marshall.
The ER vs. Rapids winner on Saturday night has inside track to #1 seed in 7AA.

Uhhh, how about 4 seed for Marshall at this point given they and East have both lost to Cloquet.

In the 1994-95 game, Spehar had 4g 2a, Locker had 2g 3a. In the 1995-96 game, Spehar had 3g 1a, Locker had 4g 3a.

In the 94-95 game that was 21-0, ( possibly the 19-0 game ) spehar and locker amongst other players weren't even suited. I remember a few watching the game in the stands at the decc..
I also remember the band director being extremely pissed as it seems everytime they finished the school song , they had to play it over again.
Those two memories I will never forget.
Any idea what the shots were?

Was out plowing and just saw the score in this game... Wow, this has to be one of the funniest things I have seen in quite some time.
Marshall not only beat East, they shut them out. Proctor beat Marshall... I think the world is coming to an end.

Pretty good losing streak now. When was the last time they lost 4 in a row? I can understand having a bad game here or there but to lose 4 in a row seems very unRandolph like.
It is still December but there is no way these losses won't come back to bite the hounds, especially the section games.

According to this link:

They haven't lost 4 straight anytime in the papers archives, which goes back to the early 2000's.

Brutal stretch for the hounds! I'm so used to east going up and down all year, than coming together when it counts. I wouldn't say that they are done by any stretch, but if Randolph can rally this team to peak at the right time it's not out of the question. I will say very underachieving at this point, but with that said if coach can bring em around and they do have the players, it may be the best coaching performance of his career and boy what a cherry on top that would be.

Those last two losses by East have dropped them to #42 in PageStat, 33rd in Class AA. That's unprecedented and I've been running PageStat since the 1997-98 season.
Of far more importance is the question; what do they do now? Luckily it's only December so there is time. Before they end up going on the road to Cloquet or Mars Lakeview in the 7AA quarterfinals.

East hasn't avoided playing Class A Denfeld all along, so Marshall's previous Class A status can't be the reason why they hadn't played in more than a decade, until now. Must have been something more to it.

Denfeld is the only A team East plays. No Hermantown either for how many years, why is that also?
Wonder if Randolph thinks they should be playing with the big boys in AA and they refuse to schedule them until they do so.

Yes, that is why he doesn't play Hermantown and didn't play Marshall until this year. He wants to see more Northern AA teams and he knows that's where Hermantown should be. Doesn't want to reward them with a game until they help carry the torch for Northern AA hockey.

Is this a product of robbing the bantam program a bit too often these last couple years? Missing from serious team development from what I've read.
