Right from the split it became apparent that for what ever reason many more south kids were bailing out compared to north. The program had a chance to really take off but instead a constant stream of STA departures kept it from happening, from there we are starting to see cross community departures take hold. The talent has been in the program to contend at the state level but has chosen to play elsewhere in many cases. Success breads success, I'll always wonder what might have been. To Eigner's credit it appears he may have started a program that will create its own momentum even if its partially on the backs of south kids.

From my friend in Rosemount the house is not currently for sale (and he has not heard this rumor prior to this post).

Not to bring everyone back to hockey, but NHL Central Scouting has both
McNeeley and Sadek on their first 2015 Draft HIGH MN Watch List, and they are the ONLY MN D Men. I cant remember a same HS team D Men tandem being ranked so high together ( at least until either early departs)
Since this is a south of the river thread, would also appreciate any insights people have on why Nick Wolff didn't end up being drafted, seemed like his HS performance rose towards year end and he got a nice D1, but slipped off the NHL list after being rated higher than others who were drafted.

MSHSL should have fun with this one.
Because SSM isn't part of MSHSL he has no worries about transferring from there to LN. Always been that way.

First off, anything beyond 1st round is typically a crap shoot. Don't recall if it was something posted on this board or what, but there was a statistic of players drafted after 1st round and number of NHL games played and it was staggering as far as how low it was.
As far as Wolff is concerned, I think a lot had to do with his skating. While I do think he is better and much more physical than McNeely and Sadek both of them are big kids who skate very well, (although Sadek to be successful at the next level will have to be much more physical). I like Wolffs game and think he will be a thorn in a lot of teams sides for years to come at UMD.

Looking at the Elite League rosters released at noon today:
1. McNeely is ON the rosters,, along with Sadek and 3 Poehlings.
And goalie Edquist. It is still possible one could depart early, but
increasingly unlikely if they let Elite place them to roster.
2. Meanwhile, Wayzatas Ahrens and Freytag are NOT on the rosters,
now almost certain they are early departs
This being the case, LVN moves up from #3 to #2 preseason ranking spot, and #2 Wayzata drops to middle or lower middle top 10

No one from LN will leave and play juniors. At least during the HS season they won't.
Freytag announced he's playing in the USHL this year. That certainly doesn't help Wayzata's chances.

Best team the Poehlings and Enbeks can buy. Kind of neat to win a title with the kids you grew up with vs. the recruits that came in. Great memories playing with kids for a year or so just to get a blue ribbon.

Every top team in the State has kids on the roster that did not "grow up" there. It's the world we live in now.

Edina-Lakeville North State Final has to be an early season prediction.
Now we can all root against them both and cherish the games they happen to lose along the way..assuming of course they both don't just run the table...history says they'll lose somewhere along the way but who knows, this Lakeville North team may go down in the "best ever" debate..at least leading into the season

Best ever? cart meet horse! they have some talent but I just can't see them in the same light as some of the great Jefferson or Edina teams...or EP for that matter.

Yes, this Lakeville North team would go down in a best ever debate. In fact they would go down hard.

If North is put into the debate of best ever "at least leading into the season" than I must wonder where you place the team returning many of their key players that just beat this "best ever" squad 8-2
