At least the weather is cooperating. Why spend a May weekend in the OC when you can spend the weekend dodging snowplows and watching your little one get shellacked by double digits?

It would be great if Bernie fired up the out door rink for the tourny.

Ouch. Long way to travel for that type of mismatch.
There are probably "open" level teams in the area that could have given the Blades a better game. Bet the West Coast parents are wondering what they got themselves into.

At least the Icemen didn't have to travel far for their 20 goal beating this morning.

Geez, the website gurus with Minnesota Made are terribly slow. Not much for updates. Anyone know any of the scores in the 02 division from the second games?

What happened to the 2000 Edge? They were a really good team last year.

Well that should change Tony's 02 "ranking". Machine Black moves up. You gotta love a underdog.

I have 4 of the 6 birth years done (missing '01 and '04), some based on texts, some on what's on the site. Had a little "me" time and got as everything in as the best info I could before I head back to the rink for more. The scores have been hit and miss depending on what rink I've been at.

What was wrong with the 99 orange goalie?
Anyone at the iceman vs machine game? Updates? Color commentary?

Miracle Gold over Orange 12-3
Has any Minnesota team beaten an Orange team by that wide a margin? serious question... I don't recall it ever happening at any level even the youngest level.
03
Orange over Miracle Gold in a shoot out. Orange scores with 2.6 seconds left on the clock to tie it at 3. Gold had the lead or tied entire game only to lose in the shoot out. Very exciting game, both teams had a PP in OT, neither could score. Gold goalie had an outstanding game.

Should be some very good games and story lines:
99: Can the Machine hold off Huskie Prospects (every time I type that team name I wanna write "Huskie Women" a la the chant at Gopher games)?
00: Blades vs. Machine should be interesting to see.
01: Two very good teams playing great hockey
02: All Canada final
03: Can anyone touch the Blades?
04: Very tough game for the Gold
Enjoy,
TS
PS Thanks HeLights for the detail on the 03..very exciting

Machine 01s win the 'chip in dramatic fashion: Selects score three quick ones in the first, add a fourth in the second.
Machine claw one back, and then tally a second right at the buzzer before the resurface. Selects 4, Machine 2 at the break.
Machine come out flying in the third to win 7-4. Seven unanswered goals! Selects was more or less the team that beat Machine for the championship in Detroit three weeks ago, plus a third line.
Anyone with reports on the 2000s and 2003s?

Canadians go home empty handed.
I suck at picks. Only 3 out of 7. YHH was 5 of 6 and the only miss finished 2nd. Nicely done!
99 - Icemen (3rd) actual winner - Machine
00 - Machine (ding ding)
01 - Machine (ding ding)
02 - Machine (3rd) actual winner - Manitoba Warriors
03 - Miracle Gold (4th) actual winner - Blades

I don't think there are any real surprises. For the most part the best teams finished in the top 3. I am surprised at how close the 03 Blades/Machine game was. I am also surprised that the Machine finished 3rd in 02. Not surprised that the Warriors won.
Also, the Blades won the DHI Top Tier Tournament in Toronto this weekend. Interestingly enough, they never won an 02 tournament last year but have a gold and a silver thus far this year.

I saw most of '03 Blades/Machine championship game and it wasn't close. Not disagreeing to disagree but the Blades team is a much better team. The 2002 Blades did win last year. They won the Caribou Cup and beat Machine Orange twice in 24 hours. Pretty shoddy reporting Pylon. j/k

Was disappointed at the overall quality at S&S. Despite easier schedules for the Made teams, they had little success. The exception is the behemoth that is the 2000s. There is a reason they are nationally recognized.
