Game is closer than I thought at this point. Marshall goalie doing good. Still seems that SW Minnesota is far behind the rest of state in hockey.

Biggest issue down there is numbers. Every kid has a place on the team whether they work or not. Some play more than others but I don't know that any team in the SWC has tryouts? Maybe someone else knows.Detlef wrote:Game is closer than I thought at this point. Marshall goalie doing good. Still seems that SW Minnesota is far behind the rest of state in hockey.
I figured it was something to that extent. Maybe more into football more.whos_it wrote:Biggest issue down there is numbers. Every kid has a place on the team whether they work or not. Basketball and wrestling are strong in the SW part of the state. So hockey teams are competing with those sports for talent.Detlef wrote:I figured it was something to that extent. Yea Marshall goal! Powerplay looked decent.
While this game might still get out-of-hand, let's give Marshall a little credit for putting up a fight and going in with a decent game plan to keep it close.whos_it wrote:The Marshall kids first goal of the tournament .... wait, first goal of the season. Although Breck is clearly better, I am dissappointed in their team play. Come on, you are playing section 3A and it is a two goal game in the second. Good luck with this kind of effort on Friday.

It was a slashing call ...... didn't see that either .... puck was loose!!thestickler07 wrote:Wow the Stan Van Gundy double penalty, what a joke. Don't see how the Marshall player was roughing at all.
I think he took another point-blank shot after the whistle.whos_it wrote:It was a slashing call ...... didn't see that either .... puck was loose!!thestickler07 wrote:Wow the Stan Van Gundy double penalty, what a joke. Don't see how the Marshall player was roughing at all.
maybe someone else can contradict me, but I don't believe they do running time at state.InYourFace09 wrote:I have a feeling it will be running time in the 3rd.
There is still running time if up by 6 or more at state. Almost positive. Dont need to extend the game anymore than it already is.Detlef wrote:maybe someone else can contradict me, but I don't believe they do running time at state.InYourFace09 wrote:I have a feeling it will be running time in the 3rd.
Refs are letting the little stuff go, just the way I think it should be done
Correct, though they will still stop for TV timeouts.InYourFace09 wrote:There is still running time if up by 6 or more at state. Almost positive.
