if it is 4-1 east, you mean 1-4 elk river, elks beat them at HOME two years ago, home ice doesn't mean anything

9 I thought? I wouldn't worry about finding a good seat. Considering Cec and rapids are out I wouldn't worry about finding a seat for the finals either

EHSHack wrote:Of the current 7AA teams these are the state appearances in the last 20 years:
Duluth East- 12
Andover-None
Grand Rapids-2
Elk River- 6
Cloquet- 4
Forest Lake- None
St. Michael-Albertville (WHAT?!)- None
Cambridge-Isanti-1
St. Francis- None

So lets see thats 3 Northern teams with 18 State Appearances, and 6 Southern teams with 7 Appearances, including 4 teams with NO appearances. So how about you either shut up or starting winning section finals. Looks like they are in the right spot to me!
You are really counting Cambridge Tier 2 state appearance?????

Depending on the time of the day. It takes close to the same amount of time to get to Elk River from FL,as going to Cloquet.

Slyer he ment that East would win 4-1 and Franke's record vs East in Sectional play would be 0-4....

I don't know, rapidsrapids always talks about how 7AA is better than 6AA, so you should probably still get there early :)

In all seriousness, I hope the guy's alright, I don't think I've seen him on here since the GR loss...

Everybody is going with East, so I'm gonna pick Elk River with the upset. 4-2

The Elks have won their last 6 straight games, including a big upset win over Maple Grove 5-3. They have the firepower to bring East down, believe me. I went to that Hockey Day game with Minnetonka vs Duluth East and if the Hounds play like that again they'll be watching the State Tourney on the couch! And like some of the other people have mentioned, the recent resignation of the Elks coach could be giving the boys a lift, as well!

Forget East. I think Elk River vs Andover would be a great section final. 8)
