Just talked to someone from the MHS Activities Office, they're selling tickets starting Saturday at 9:00am. To answer your question norcon, I believe prices are the same as other home games, $4 for students and $6 for adults. I'm not entirely sure on that though, whatever you pay it should be worth your money.

Lake Nokomis, where they're having the Pond Hockey Championships this weekend, has over 12 inches of ice. Why would Lake Minnetonka be any different?

Lake Nokomis is
a lot smaller than Lake Minnetonka. I'd look up the their sizes but Wikipedia is blacked out right now. It would be crazy to even drive on Lake Minnetonka right now.

Plus to add to this point, even though the game would have been on land next to the lake I don't think some people realize how long it takes to make an ice rink that is playable and safe enough for a high school hockey game. The high temps were in the 40's until two days ago. This isn't a normal pond rink that could be good in a few days of flooding.

I cry foul! My pond rink still sucks this year after several days of flooding

Here's a better site than Wiki for your lake facts
http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/index.html
Minnetonka - 14,100 acres
Nokomis - 201 acres

Thanks, I'll be sure to keep that in mind next time I have to look up how big a lake is.

Looking forward to this big game. Also wondering what these teams might be wearing as in special uniforms.
I will say this looking forward to seeing the GREYhounds in their uniforms.

With the amount of outdoor ice that the Duluth kids play on as youths, one would think they would have had an advantage outside. Yes??? No????

East's jerseys should be pretty cool. Think Detroit's Winter Classic jerseys, similar letters to that. Nice that the kids get to keep them too.

I'd like to see Tonka emphasize the anchor on a "3rd" one of these years.

Really not a hockey day without the outdoor games? The state of hockey cannot figure out how to produce outdoor ice in the middle of Jan.
