A long tough road ahead of them which is the SAME road that EP, Wayzata and Tonka must travel. Nice analysis boys.
You guys are worried. We like that.

We also like your slim chances.

That's how we roll.

Not true. EP and Wayzata already have the scorers in place and EP has the D and goalie everyone else lacks, not to mention the best player in the state up front. If everyone plays simply adequately they should win the section. Luck takes care of itself when you have the talent. Also remember this, these EP seniors have only lost one season ending game in six years. Peewee state title, back to back Bantam state titles, HS state title, a loss in the section finals last year, and now another shot at state in their senior year.

Well said. Basically exactly what I was trying to say. It will be fun to see what the EP boys do in their last season ever together.

We'll see. They've got all the tools to do it!

None of the teams have a goalie that can win a game for you. I think goaltending is the reason EP will not win the section.

Goaltending wins championships, all it takes is a hot goalie. Throw out the stats they had during the season

You're correct goaltending wins championships.
However,
Season stats do provide what the capabilities of that goalie and team defense has. Although EP's tending is considered one of their "lows" in their defense; Ford still is good enough to make that impact.
I still see a hiccup in the Eagles' near future...

We DO know that Ford has the potential to play well enough for them to be successful

It will be a fun night at Mariucci next week no matter who is in the two final games. I'll be there, might have to get there early though!

Does this comment mean that you are reconsidering your earlier prediction (Feb, 14) of an EP section title?

For a section title... no. I still think they'll make it out alive.
State is where I see the hiccup.

Alright. I didn't understand what he was asking. EP is my favorite coming out of 6AA and as for state, I suppose it would depend on what seed they get and who they play....

Benilde also has the "scorers in place". The rap on BSM all year has been their depth on defense and their goaltending but since the Holy Angels game they have been solid in this area of their game. EP does have the experience factor with 13 seniors I believe but the pressure is on them which I think bodes well for the other teams in the section. Benilde also has a revenge factor going from that 1st loss to EP. One game at a time though so first Armstrong, then Wayzta and hopefully a great matchup with EP.

Steinhouser's out and the only reason you can say the d has been "good" after AHA is they have played nobody besides SSM after AHA. Plus Benilde has a strong recent history of failure in section semis. No way they beat Wayzata.

We'll see. Wayzata is overated and check out their "history" in the sections. Not good. EP may score a lot but they give up a lot also. They have as many defensive issues as BSM, Tonka or Wayzata and their goalie is no stud. No question they have the experience factor but nothing is a lock this year.
