Not at all, but I would call it an upset, at least a minor one!

Congrats on being the lone contestant picking the Bears to win this one.
Heading into tomorrow night, everyone is now tied with 3 points apiece.

The victors also won the SOG battle by a 31-23 margin, so just like Mounds View they must have just played a really good game. Just goes to show once again that upsets are almost always possible!
An upset?? Really?
Chaska/Chanhassen is a hard working team. I will not be surprized with any win that they may post.

I agree. I watch CC play at the Duluth Scrimmage fest. Good, hard working team. I would not classify this win as an upset let alone a huge upset. You should know by now the rankings are just a little flawed. Furthermore, not as great a gap this year between the haves and have nots.

Chaska/Chanhassen does have a couple of impressive wins, including Breck, Mound-Westonka and now Eden Prairie. But earlier in the year they were inconsistent, losing to unranked Farmington and North Wright County and also to a pretty average Alexandria team. Since then, however, they've been on a roll, having won their last 7 games. So maybe their hard work (and maybe some good coaching?) is beginning to pay off.
If they do get ranked next week we will certainly include their game against Blake on January 8th in our Week 8 contest here.

As of 11:15 this evening still no score being reported for the Coon Rapids/Roseville game.
In tonight's other matchup, Crookson beat East Grand Forks 4-1. Six of eleven contestants got this one right and pick up a point, but nobody got the score.

Congratulations to Coon Rapids on their big 5-3 come from behind win over Roseville last night. That makes two losses in a row for Roseville, a team that up until that point had gone undefeated at 9-0.
Congrats also to TeamFirst, the only contestant that saw Coon Rapids winning this one. TeamFirst also narrowly missed getting the score right, having predicted a 4-3 Coon Rapids victory. This puts TeamFirst into the lead heading into the Holiday break with 5 points, leaving five others (OntheEdge, Silent But Deadly, FlyingWarrior, hockeyheaven and Hansonbrother) tied for 2nd with 4 points apiece. The rest of us [

] are stuck at 3.
The hockey action resumes on Monday. Until then, Merry Christmas everybody!

And during those 3 games. Chaska was without their starting goalie who was hurt during the Farmington game.

Monday's scores:
Coon Rapids 6, Grand Rapids/Greenway 2
Edina 3, Irondale 1
Remarkably, all eleven contestants got the winners in both games correct. And maybe just as surprising, nobody got either score, so everybody's point totals increased by exactly 2. Which means that those of us who are trailing did not make up any ground on the leader, TeamFirst. Going into Mounds View's game at Elk River tomorrow night, here are the standings:
TeamFirst - 7
OntheEdge - 6
Silent But Deadly 6
FlyingWarrior - 6
hockeyheaven - 6
Hansonbrother - 6
(five tied at 5)

Just one game today and it was a close one: Mounds View 5, Elk River/Zimmerman 4.
Seven out of eleven contestants thought Mounds View would win this one, but once again nobody was able to correctly predict the score. I don't know what the odds are but you would think that with 11 people and 10 games (110 predictions) that SOMEBODY would get at least one score right.
Standings heading into the final game on Thursday night:
TeamFirst - 8
OntheEdge - 7
hockeyheaven - 7
Hansonbrother - 7
(five tied at 6)
(two tied at 5)

Final from the Kaposia Classic:
Warroad 3, Blake 0
Congratulations to Warroad's Shelby Amsley-Benzie who posted a 23 save shutout against a very potent Blake offense. Congratulations also goes to prognosticator TeamFirst, who takes this two week contest "all alone" with a total of 9 points:
1. TeamFirst - 9
2. OntheEdge - 8
2. Hansonbrother - 8
4. Silent But Deadly - 7
4. hockeyheaven - 7
4. mnhkylvr - 7
7-11. five tied with 6
P.S. For the first time ever, I believe, there was not a single correct score in one of these weekly contests.
