Goalie wasn't quite set, left that five hole wide open.

These teams are going to be beat up after this one, no matter who wins!

2-1 now for Breck. Chase Nystadt. Foster went down too soon.

Does it seem like both of the goals he gave up were kind of weak? I think Warroad is outplaying Breck and definitely handling them physically.

I am wondering why they started the sophomore Foster rather than the senior Shawn Storey. What's the story?

Russell is easily the better goalie in this matchup.

If this is true, how frustrating for the team and Storey's parents. How do you teach your kids to control their emotions at this age to prevent a disaster like that?

Yeah. One would think that they would start the senior goalie. Intermission. I will check out the Warroad internet board for s'news.

Storey injured his knee on 26 January against Crookston. Perhaps his recovery was delayed, or after returning he was not game shape??

And I see that someone above mentioned that he may have quit after sitting on the bench post-recovery.

Probably the story about Storey.

Storey quit during Section playoffs--heard him and his parents threw a fit when Foster got into net for one of the section games, and then he missed the team curfew and coaches confronted him about it---said he quit. Coaches and team said they would let him come back if he apologized and he said he didn't want to put up with them anymore. from the sound of it...the kid sounds like he's a bad sport. He did have a knee injury during the regular season and probably expected to come back and instantly be in the net. Like I said...bad sport.

Thanks for clearing this up for us.

4-1 Riley Borer is the scorer. Foster loses his stick and cannot stop the shot with his wild-flop style.

4-1 Breck. Lookin' like Warroad awoke a sleeping giant after the early lead.

What a sad story. Doesn't sound like the parents helped him keep his head on straight AT ALL. I hate to see a kid do things I know he'll regret.

Nelson cuts the lead to 4-2 with a powerplay goal. #51, against Breck.

Woke up a sleeping Giant  , get real when is Breck's school going to man up and play AA Hockey. I guess it just feels better to win 2nd class hardware than not win any at all

Goldfishdude in da house...... Just got home a bit ago, and got caught up via the DVR...

Warroard might be playing the body the best I have seen from a single team in a while - and pretty clean...

I hate to think what the score would be if they weren't...

Fulton was frustrated alot during the period, but because of three offsides when he control of the puck...

Breck certainly doesn't allow for lengthy puck possesion in the d-zone, and takes solid advantage of the scoring chances...

I really am surprised it's only 4-2..

Goldfishdude now 4-790 in predictions...

Yeah, Warroad plays Canadian hockey quite well. Very effective body checking, BUT, Breck has too many horses. Very impressed with how they carry the puck into the zone, rather than the dump-and-chase some teams use. Three good lines versus two should win most games.

Congrats to Breck. Good luck to Warroad for Third? Fifth? How does Consolation work?

What impressed me the most wasn't their offense. There D blocks so many shots, and I'd give the edge in goaltending to Russell tomorrow over the Hermantown goalie.

Simple solution, all private schools to AA. The kids are there for the education anyway right?

The A bracket was meant for towns like Warroad, New Ulm, Farmington, Mahtomedi-NOT for loaded private school teams.

I do enjoy the tournament and I give the Breck School credit for having a great team, but they should be playing AA

They will play for third versus Mahtomedi.....
