Edina 3, Wayzata 0 on Saturday. 0-5 for all Wayzata boys on Sat. Edina may have been playing for 1st and 2nd in PWA if they would have had the nads to go with 2 "A" teams; instead, they settle for guaranteed 1st place at the "B"level.

Peewee B is probably home now (lost 1st 2); Peewee A lost today & will most likely go down to Way tomorrow; Ban B made consolation; Bant A home now (ouch); Jr Gold B (no show); Jr Gold A (lost to Edina 1st game...nice parents too is the word),,,,,,,,,,,,other than that GO ELKS! LOL

OTHER THEN WAYZATA AND EDINA WHO ELSE HAD 5 TEAMS IN THE STATE TOURNAMENT?
EDINA AROUND 1200 SKATERS, WAYZATA 1200 SKATERS, ELK RIVER 500 SKATERS.
AGAIN IT LOOKS LIKE A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR ELK RIVER HOCKEY!
WHO?

Cdale, you must be really bored to dig up a post form a year ago or you have been spanked by the Elks so many times you couldn’t resist throwing a dagger.
Well let’s see how did the Elks do this weekend??
-
The Bantam A team is playing for 3rd after losing a 1 to 0 game to the returning State Bantam A champs in Woodbury.
-
The Bantam B1 team got beat in the 1st game to a top 3 team in the state Edina but bounced back and now is head to the consolation championship.
-
The Pee Wee A team had Wayzata on the ropes the 1st game with 10 minutes left but couldn’t close the deal and yesterday fought hard, hits some pipes and got knocked out by GR, and just a note for you to chew on the Elk River Pee Wee A team had 8 first year pee wees, 6 skaters and 2 goalies in addition to that a total of 9 sixth graders. Last I checked Wayzata had one 1st year who touched the ice maybe 2 times in the game, Edina has one 1st year, Farmington has Zero 1st years and Rosemount has zero 1st years. Elk River by far had the youngest team in the state tournament.
-
The 12UB team lost two tough OT time games to two tough opponents.
So all in all Cdale, the Elks had a pretty darn good weekend, how did your teams fair??

A few of us were chatting....it's interesting you post so early in the season about how great the Elks are. And at end of day it's the Edinas & Wayzatas with multiple teams in state across the age groups. I don't have the excuses you do for why the others weren't in state of why everyone didn't win. Pretty sure by tonight it'll be alot more than Elk Country. I did see your Bantam 'A's this year- great team. I actually thought they were gonna win state. They were my pick.

Don't have a kid at any of these associations nor a t this level...But Edina didn't even have a team qualify for the Pee Wee B state tourney...

It will indeed be interesting to see how theElks do next year - especially since they had such a young PeeWe A team and made it State this year. For the record though, Farmington had 3 first year PeeWee A's including, technically age-wise, the goalie.
