I heard that there was no banquet this year and quite honestly was a little surprised. These eight teams have worked incredibly hard to get to the State Tournament and to have no recognition for the boys is disappointing. What is the rationale behind the decison? Is MN Hockey trying to trim budgets so their first choice is pulling an event from the kids? I've heard the banquets are hit or miss in terms of content and interest but it just doesn't matter....the kids love it.

That's to bad as there will be a banquet for the VFW qualifiers up in Thief River Falls............

that is too bad for the banquet issue. they could charge parents or non-player or coaches a fee of $20-25/person and have a banquet without losing money!!! Just like the VFW State Tournament.
Maybe Minnesota Hockey board and elected officials should reduce their pay - it is about the kids not making money off the youth!
It is too bad, but once the tournament starts, the games will take over and this year should be a great tournament with some good teams from the North to take on the teams from the Cities!!!
