East is good but they are over rated. Also watching them a little they have a skilled top line but after that the depth decreases.
Have watched them a few times this year and I think I would put that team up against most JV teams
Is that supposed to be a compliment?

Edina is toast!! Lost to Minnetonka last night. District 6 heading to Regions are Apple Valley, Burnsville and Minnetonka!!
When is the last time Edina did not make it out of Districts!!
This team won the State Tournament as PeeWees 2 years ago!!

They also had Labosky, Reno, and Moore. That would help...

Most of the top teams lost quality kids to high schools!!
Wayzata, Lakeville South, Woodbury all lost top notch players.
Woodbury lost returning goalie, 2 returning defensemen. Wayzata lost Besse. Lakeville South lost Osterberg!
As you can see these teams have suffered as well, but all of them are in the hunt to make Regions and State.
I am sure there is other top 20 teams that lost some good talent to the high schools!!
You can't tell me that Edina's program drops off so much from #15 to #18 that it is making a huge difference. One of the largest programs in the state and losing your top 3 players is no reason for the State Tournament Champion from 2 years ago to not even make it out of Districts!

Well, everybody except Edina made it out of districts, right?

District 6 is extremely difficult. The Bantam A results are interesting.
D6 teams advancing to Bantam A Regional.
#1 Apple Valley has 3 bantam teams
#2 Burnsville has 4 bantam teams
#3 Minnetonka has 6 bantam teams
Edina has 8 bantam teams and did not advance

East Region is the toughest one to get to State. You have Minnetonka, ranked #2 in
www.mnhockeyrankings.com, Woodbury#3, Burnsville #8, Eagan #10, Apple Valley #16. 4 of the top 10 teams by ranking in this region.
I see Woodbury getting to State and either Burnsville or Minnetonka.
Osseo/MG and Wayzata are most likely coming from one region.
Grand Rapids and Duluth are the top contenders for the North Region.
Blaine, Elk River, Roseau and East Grand Forks in other region.
Will be some interesting tough games this weekend.
Guaranteed to have a new champion from 2 years ago when Edina won the State Tournament.
Teams that were in that State Tournament that didn't qualify past districts are Edina, Eden Prairie and Little Falls. Grand Rapids took 2nd, Wayzata 3rd, Woodbury consolation, East Grand Forks lost to Woodbury in the consolation Championship, Cloquet lost 2 games in State.
North plays East in quarterfinals at State. West plays South.
Matchups could be Woodbury/Duluth East, Minnetonka/Grand Rapids, OMG/Blaine, Wayzata/Roseau.

Interesting that OMG and Wayzata are in opposite pools in more than one level for regions!

That frequently happens because they are usually playing vs each other in the D3 Championship game

Three of the regions have sleeper teams that can possibly do some damage in the tournaments. I would put Eagan, Apple Valley, Elk River, Moundsview, EGF, and Andover in this group. The South region is a little more difficult to find a team that can make a run. Does Hopkins or New Prague have the depth to make a serious run?

The winner between Hopkins and New Prague could go 2-1 in their pool to advance but I doubt either one will go much farther. Stranger things have happened tho!

Like on Sunday when Fergus had them in running time at 6-0 late in the third before they got on the board?

Regardless, it makes your comment that they get stronger every game incorrect. How do you like wearing #8?

What about the game on Saturday when Roseau had you down 5-0 with about 5 to go? Yeah, you came back with 4 goals in 4 minutes, but 5-0 with 5 to go? That game meant something, get to the championship game with a berth at VFW State on the line? Taking 46 of 51 minutes off against Roseau and getting nearly shut out by Fergus is not getting better every game.

they would have to beat some pretty respectable teams to go to state which they have not beat any teams all year that are in the top 20
