It was nice that Hastings paid the refs in the game against Rochester.

Rochester gets shutout in 2 consecutive games in Districts. Whether or not the refs were not in your favor, you have to score at least one goal in 2 games in order to give your team a chance!!

Maybe it is just you and your team that should take the blame for not doing it in districts and not being ranked in the top 20!

Good luck in the VFW districts! Maybe you and the refs will have better luck!! Just a tip, bring a $50 bill to the game and maybe give it to the Head Official!?!?!?!?!?

That is very true, our offense was off the last two games and it just didnt seem like we could catch a break, not an excuse though.

P.S. Maybe we should bring a 50 dollar bill to the VFW tournament. :D

River Heights wins controversial 3rd place game to get to Regions as 3rd seed in D8. Goal by Hastings disallowed in 2nd period after linesman calls a penalty on Hastings after they score!! Unfortunate event for Hastings, momentum was swinging toward Hastings!

Woodbury dominates Eagan and wins 4-1. Outshot Eagan 51-21, Eagan only had 9 shots in 2nd and 3rd period. Look tired and overmatched by Woodbury. Eagan kept it within 1 goal late in the game, pulled their goalie and never got a shot off with Woodbury scoring 2 empty net goals!

D8 entrants to East Region:
#1 Woodbury
#2 Eagan
#3 River Heights

One of the toughest, if not toughest Region with Burnsville, Apple Valley, Minnetonka, Mpls Park and Irondale/Highland Park winner. Could get 2 teams from D8 into State tournament!!?!?!?

You call cross checking and punching a player in the head prior to the Hastings team scoring an "Unfortunate event"? The Ref did not see it and the linesman can't make that call until the next whistle, which happened to be the goal by Hastings. The refs then talked it over and made the right decision. I would say rather then an "Unfortunate event for Hastings" was instead a "Poor judgment and selfish play" by the Hastings player taking the penalty with score so close (1-0), so kudos to the refs for getting it right...

[quote="Hockey22"]Great job -Hastings and River Heights - Hockey74 what happened to your Lakeville South team? It looks like the better team won 3 out of 3 times!
quoteWhat's with all the hostility towards hockey74 and Lakeville South? Looking back, hockey74 never said and/or suggested LS was a top 5 team. 74 said LS was a good team getting better. I saw the River Heights/LS game. RH played a very good defensive game. RH deserves to go on. Good luck in Regions.

Reg7 or linesmen in the River Heights/Hastings game. You like to try to control hockey games at youth level. Pretend you are a top notch ref. Both of the kids involved in the play swung at each other in the Hastings defensive zone and then the play went up the ice where Hastings scored and the same 2 players got involved in front of the net swinging sticks and throwing punches. The River Heights kid actually used his stick as a weapon and hit the Hastings player in the upper torso region after Hastings scored!
Your job as a linesmen and/or referee is to take control of the game, keep the kids safe - NOT to be the ultimate decider of the game! Your desire for the limelight is overbearing, you don't need to be the GUY on the rink - the kids play the game, let them decide the outcome!

The RH player that was punched and crossed checked was still in the neutral zone when Hastings scored. Two other players got mixed up in front of the net and each received minor penalties (check the score sheet for the facts), with Hastings getting the extra penalty for what happened back in the Hastings zone. By rule, NO goal (penalty happened before goal)...It was an intense game to watch...good job by both teams.
