One of the two dudes that play music for our local squad during whistles incorporates organ music thru his lap top music, like the CHARGE theme.Bigcat99 wrote:They're great for sections and state, but for a regular season event in a smaller arena, it really sounds like a bunch of blaring noise. I agree! There is nothing like hearing your school song as you skate out onto the ice. Gives me the chills everytime. Its all about school spiritdefense wrote:The team is playing for the school. Personally I hate them. In the Bloomington Ice Gardens (BIG) the sound of the drum line echos and is way to loud. You can not hear the fans and I doubt you can hear anything on the ice. Overall I think they can take away from the overall experience of being there.
However, that being said I love them at the State Tournament. The arena is big enough to not make the sound to loud and echo and you can hear other fans. It also helps that thousands of fans are cheering, which can drown out your band.
I know you don't really care what I think, so what do you think about them?

And what kind of school spirit is shown by the band who clears out right after they are finished playing (after the second period intermission)??? I've seen that numerous times in recent years. At football games too. But then the worst is probably at the football games when the marching band parents all leave after the half time show is over. As a parent of band kids and as a Band Booster, I can totally agree with you. I would prefer the band stay the whole game.
