Little Ralph in Thief River Falls. IMO, the nicest arena in the state.
by far Thief River Falls is the best

Aldrich is 46 years old & remains a great place to watch HS hockey. It has been kept up very well by Ramsey County. It has steep sides putting spectators right on top of the ice, has great sight lines and holds 3,000 people. It has good concessions. It is the home of the Hill-Murray Pioneers and is a 5 minute drive from home.

Does Hopkins still play games at MIA? That place was quirky but had its own charm of sorts.

The big rink at Wakota. Would have loved to see a game there with the place packed.

Luverne Minnesota (BlueMoundArena)
In an area with very little hockey history like Southwest Minnesota, this is a diamond in the rough. This a a HOCKEY building, not a pole barn or converted machine shed like many of the facilities down in the corner of the state. It has very nice lighting and excellent bleachers to watch the game from. I find many facilities up north that are as good or better but it sure needs to be given credit for bringing a little sliver of true hockey to that God forsaken part of the state.

Wakota is my favorite old school rink in the metro. I also love grand rapids arena and aldrich but my all time favorite place to watch hockey is the state fair coliseum. Section finals games are the greatest to watch in there.

I like the old rinks that have some team, player, and game history like Braemar West, BIG, Wakota, Roseau, Shattuck Old, etc.

I just received the Minnesota Ice Arenas picture book as a gift, and it was nice being able to look at all the rinks around the state that I didn't have a chance to encounter going through the ranks, one that stood out to me was Stillwater. Never had a chance to play there, but from the looks of it, it is a pretty nice venue. Of the rinks I've skated in, I always enjoyed playing in the Huck of TRF (yes the older one) it just had a good atmosphere to it, and the other would be the snake pit over on the iron range, the home of the almost defunct Greenway Raiders.

My son plays hockey and I always enjoy going to Burnsville arena, it has a nice look to it with the wood ceiling and siding on the inside.

Cannot believe no one has thrown out the Eveleth Hippodrome. Warm and not great ice, but an awsome feel to the building.

I second the Hippodrome. Rich history in that arena, and it's a fun one to play in. Spectating isn't the greatest, it's a little bit cold, but the stadium seating is cool.

A few I like a lot:
Hibbing Memorial Arena
Cloquet Area & Rec Center
Duluth Heritage Arena
DECC (on semifinal Saturday, of course!)

3-greenway: just a old time hockey rink fans pretty much on top of you, couldnt imagine how it was when they were good
2-roseau: enough said
1-east grand forks: great for the fans, best concession in the state hands down.

Not my favorite venue but I always enjoyed playing and watching games here. Hope they can come up with the money to save it:
