Moorhead's goals were all scored on power plays. Any other details?

I agree with that, from what I hear the last cross-checking call was BS. I saw clips, and Jefferson was not on its game. I agree, Edina looked better than BJ against Moorhead, but I have seen 4 or 5 Jefferson games and this was by far the worst they played. Not good news for the baby blues, they should not be playing down when teams like moorhead come hungry to upset the big city pretty boys from West BloomingtonHondemon wrote:It was indeed a fun game to watch. I thought the refs were real inconsistent with the penalty calls. They called a lot of them too. Jefferson had two 5 on 3s including through the end of reg into overtime. The last cross-checking was in a scrum in front of the net and basically gave BJ the game. (Disclaimer...I'm a Spud).
Jefferson has a very patient and efficient PP. The Spuds had a great opportunity in the last few minutes of the game. There was a juicy rebound but the BJ goalie made a great save. Very exciting.
Wish the refs would have let the players decide the game in OT though.
FWIW .. I thought Edina looked much better than BJ in their games vs. Moorhead.
The penalty was correctly called, it was a blaten cross-check from behind right in front of the ref, although I do believe it was a response to an earlier questionable hit Herbert put on one of the spuds.cuda701 wrote:I guess I'm hearing a different summary of the game that was played.
Are you saying the penalty should not have been called because they were already down one player? Perhaps, a penalty should'nt be called (even if it is one?)
Or you could look at it from this point. If the 3rd period was 17:00 minutes long instead of 17:40 then the penalty with :21 remaining would never have occured. Which means the 2nd penalty with :01 remaining would never have occured, which means it would have been 5 on 5 hockey for the O/T.dynamicD wrote:Although people may complain that the spuds got two penalties in the last minute of the third, one of them actually saved the game for them because on one herbert was basically on a break away towards the goalie and had he not been hacked down i'm about 90 percent sure he would have buried it and no OT would have been needed.
With that said, great game by the spuds. The Jags didnt look sharp for about half the game and moorhead took it to them during that time so i'll give them props for that.
So someone forgot to start the clock at some point in the 3rd? Interesting!

If you don't know what i am talking about ask the score keeper. We all saw it
I was standing on that end. From where we stood it didn't look like he got hooked. But certainly the moorhead defender was next to him not behind him so in my judgment i would have to say no. The second cross check penalty with :01 remaining was definitely a penalty but i think we already covered that....Puckboyz wrote:So someone forgot to start the clock at some point in the 3rd? Also, I was on the other end of the rink but did Herbert have enough of a breakaway to get a penalty shot?
Play by play guy on radio said the clock didn't start for awhile. Who needs homer refs ?stxnpux wrote:Or you could look at it from this point.
