Some of the best defensemen are not draft eligible this year. Also, this is how the CSS thinks these players project as NHL talent, not as high school, junior, or college talent. Also, most of the scouting that led to this list happened sporatically from last summer through Christmas. Also, the final rankings will be drastically different than the midterm rankings. Also, the actually draft order will be different than the final rankings. So I would have to say.... yes, the NHL pre draft rankings "is" wrong.MoveYourFeet wrote:NHL scouting rankings for the 2009 NHL entry draft has the following Minnesota kids (defense) still in High School ranked.....
Nick Leddy #25 Eden Prairie HS
Nate Schmidt #178 St Cloud Cathedral HS
Joe Schmitz #184 Centennial HS
Zach Palmquist #196 South St. Paul HS
No mention of any others. You decide, is the NHL pre draft rankings wrong?
You be the judge & jury.
Thank you Mr. Palmquisthockeyroyals wrote:Palmquist from SSP has a 11 game goal streak in which he has scored 13 goals in those 11. Some teams they played during that stretch are

Red Wing
Thats pretty impressive to me....

Got to agree with that. US Under 18 in April?grandrapids23 wrote:leddy hands down best in the state by a mile
Leddy, Budish, Pitlick, Birkholz, Oliver and a few others could potentially be called upon to play in the World Under 18 Tournament in Fargo during the month of April. Brian Lee from Moorhead did not participate in Ann Arbor, but was invited to play in the U.S. U 18 Tournament when it was held in Grand Forks a few years ago. I believe Aaron Ness played for the U18 team last year in a similar tournament. I would imagine U.S. will run with their entire Ann Arbor Squad. However, there is a possibility of a call up.johnnyquest wrote:I believe he would have to be a "92" birthyear and I am pretty sure he isn't
Forbort would be playing that too, im pretty sure.breakout wrote:Leddy, Budish, Pitlick, Birkholz, Oliver and a few others could potentially be called upon to play in the World Under 18 Tournament in Fargo during the month of April. Yes, I know Budish is still rehabilitating from his knee injury. If he was healthy, he would likely get the call.
He has been a U17 player, correct? If so, they may pull someone from Jr. if needed over him. I think his turn will come next year.EHSHack wrote:Forbort would be playing that too, im pretty sure.breakout wrote:Leddy, Budish, Pitlick, Birkholz, Oliver and a few others could potentially be called upon to play in the World Under 18 Tournament in Fargo during the month of April.
