In a perfect world, I suppose we could sit there and pick out a number of different possible games that would cover teams from all over, etcLucia4President wrote:I agree 100% that they should work in the 3 rivalries you mentioned. Also, I don't like the idea of having a team play on TV more than once. Spread it out, have as many teams as possible showcased, and fit in the big rivalries. They have 18 dates scheduled, which means 36 DIFFERENT teams should have the chance to experience the spectacle that is "FSN High School Hockey Night" There are more than 18 good rivalries in Minnesota, so they should have no problem compiling a list together that is more legit than the one they have released to us for this year.
Some off the top of my head that would be interesting:
Duluth East at Cloquet
Roseau at Moorhead
Virginia at Hibbing
White Bear at Hill
Minnetonka at Edina
Century at Mayo
Lakeville N vs Lakeville S
Greenway at Grand Rapids
I think the goal should be to capture the spirit, passion, and love for this game. The best way to do it is by broadcasting games where these all will be evident.
Agreed. It's best to be thankful for the fact that FS North is actually hearing the voices of their viewers and is being accomodating to some degree. Don't forget, MyFoxHockey.com hasn't released their schedule yet and we don't know what will be there. It may be an alternative.Gopher Blog wrote:In a perfect world, I suppose we could sit there and pick out a number of different possible games that would cover teams from all over, etcLucia4President wrote:I agree 100% that they should work in the 3 rivalries you mentioned. The reality is FSN isn't a charity organization. It is a business. Not only does it have to pick the games they think will get the most interest from viewers (to justify the costs of covering it, advertising, etc) but they also have to fit the games into their pre-existing schedule with other teams (Wild. Gophers, T-Wolves, etc).
HS teams don't create their schedule with the idea of getting on FSN. They put together a schedule that works for them and FSN is going to select the options based on the mixture of available games and what looks attractive.
I am just glad we have HS games to watch on TV.
you are right thank goodness the Hornets are at home, otherwise it would of been a long, long bus ride home for those boys.northwoods oldtimer wrote:Edina verse Grand Rapids could be running time this season. That game will be an ugly one to watch.
