To back Media, I agree 100% that she was under utilized. That's not to say the coaches were poor. The Lightning is just a team that loves to play heavy end on their talent. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's not like we are blaming the coaches for playing six girls or something. Everyone who dressed played, some (third line a lot of the time) just played minimally.

The way I see it, the amount of icetime Miss Hoeft saw in high school is really irrelevent at this point. Instead, you have to give her a lot of credit for choosing to realize her potential as a hockey player while advancing her education at the same time. Kudos and best of luck to her.

No point other than when you use this form of media, no pun intended, like it is a major source of communication to the public, it seems strange to make a negative comment about the local coaches. And whether you like it or not "under utilize" would be percieved as a negative comment about a coaching staff. Bob lee, aren't you a coach...wouldn't you take exception to being told you are under utilizing one of your players...doesn't it imply you can't assess talent.

Would you say this in your home town paper. I've been following along with the progress you have made with this new program and it seems like kids are going to benefit.

I'm sure your local coaches don't read this forum...its just people like me with nothing better to do...I need to get my posts up aroung 5,000 so you guys won't gang up on me all the time.

Yes, I coach. Of course I have heard that I am not playing people enough. Of course, as a coach, I am doing my best to get the right people on the ice (or field) at the right time. Media was not taking a shot at the local coaches. He is saying essentially that he believes this girl has talent that is ready to explode. I know for a fact he wasn't taking a shot at the coaching staff. Good luck to Jenae, I know she will do great. Now let's let this die and leave this thread for more player signings!

I think Media put it quite nicely :!: I couldn't have been that professional when talking about their coaching

Grand Rapids. The MInnesota Crunch are pleased to announce the signing and agreement of Forest Lake High school Star defender Miranda Nelson . We are very excited to have Miranda on our squad and feel as though we have stolen a top prospect from someone. We observed Miranda two years ago at Jr Fest and have been waiting in the wings to see what happened to her. She is intelligent and skilled in her play and was highly touted by many D-3 schools . We expect 50 -60 games will advance her game significantly. Miranda is a defensive defender she fits our mix nicely. MIranda and the rest of the Crunch will open their season August 27th in Sault ST Marie Ontario .

Grand Rapids - The Minnesota Crunch are pleased to announce the signing of Mackensie Miller for thier inaugueral team. We are excited to have Mackensie become apart of our squad of our squad said Dan Clafton . She is a tough physical defender, the type of Player we look for.
Miller was identified to the Crunch by Roxie Stang former St Cloud State player and coach to Miller at Princton. Stang said of Miller , shes a strong skater and can play the physical game . Roxy has played at the top level and knows talent. Her recommendation was good enough for us. The Crunch open Training camp August 11th.
