After watching Wayzata play this year, I'd wager to say Mario was good enough to play for them this year too!

When you have been doing it for as long as we have, we know what's out there. We also know that the commute from Lino Lakes isn't so bad.

Because I've played on the same team as them numerous times. Unfortunatly, neither appears to want to come to Hill...

Excuse me, but Jansen didn't even make the "A" Bantam team this year. How do you expect him to jump from "B" Bantams to varsity next year?

Exactly. And you didn't even mention Brandon Wahlin. He is a very good player along with Birkinbine, I believe he leads the team in points this season.

STA will have some solid players coming up, as well as Eden Prairie. We can go right down the line at players from both teams. Eden Prairie has there goalie back as well, which should help them in the up coming years.

You know he is from Edina don't you? Aren't you worried you'll get sued for making a comment like that?

I watched most of the Bantam A state tournament and I would say that Sit was one of the best players there. He is very fast, shifty, and has a good shot. There was one thing wrong though...I counted 3 passes that he made the whole tournament. If he plays at the Varsity level I'm hoping that he will have more faith in his teammates...Jones from Wayzata was the best defenseman at the tournament. I am not sure how his size will effect him next year but I am sure that he will do just fine.

Rau. There is no question that he is the most hyped bantam coming to high school next year. His brother is also a pretty good defenseman...

Brett Larson from Centennial should be the starting varsity goalie for Centennial. Seeing how both their goalies this year were seniors.

Michael Sit made the national festival for advanced 15's.....hmm he must suck pretty badly and play with his head down. Come on be real the kid has great skill and obviously the evaluators noticed he kept his head up.

Matt van voorhis-edina bantam a
Nicholas hinz-north st paul bantam a
Brian leblanc-hermantown bantam a
I believe the alternates are

Thanks for the updates on the National Festival Trojanman. The names you provided are all top notch players and good kids. Anyone have anymore names?
Just a reminder (as evidenced by this thread), there will always be jealous players and even more jealous dads! I have more respect for the posters on here who highlight the talent than those dads who like to take shots at kids (you know who you are CN_). The players know who is good and which players are over hyped (mostly by their dad's PR firms). In the long run, the good players rise to the top through lots of natural ability, sweat and hard work. Parents can only create opportunities for so long and then the kids have to earn it on their own. The ones with true talent, heart and passion for the game will end up on top and in the drafts in spite of occassional bad coaches and powerful dads with agendas and connections, but cloudy visions of their own kid's true abilities.
Good luck to all the players who made it to represent MN at the national festival in August. Also congrats to the kids who played hard all week. It's just one program - don't give up - just keep working hard and have some fun with hockey!
