I am pretty sure that the Roseau kids aren't that excited to eat at McDonald's or Arby's. Is anyone? Anyways, aren't they supposed to eat nice and healthy before the games? Any athlete knows that!

If you want to go a few miles down W.7th St. try Shamrocks the best burgers in town. Bennetts Shop House. Great food and great hockey pictures on the wall. Brett Hull stops in everytime he is in town.

COSSETTA'S the best in the business and a 5 minuite walk from the X. Gets busy but its worth the wait. If your looking fancy, Kincaids is your place.

Used to have a Hardees. Dairy Queen and a Gas Station with a Taco Bell and another with a Pizza Hut--if you can call them either.
Best steak in the WORLD is at the Strip Club diner on East 7th over by Mounds Blvd. Not an actual strip club, the name of the restaurant is the "Strip Club". Block south of E. 7th on Maria. Funny that a place that serves fois gras is next to a Carbonies. Price is not bad.

#1 - Cosettas
#2 - Pat McGoverns Turkey dinner
#3 - Degidio's - hot dago's
#4 - Mancini's for the older crowd lomg wait this time of year
Short bus ride or long walk.
#1- Savoy Pizza best anywhere
#2 - Gopher Bar - coney islands are legendary
#3 - Alary's - something to be said about service with a smile
The Gopher bar is a fun thing to experience, but $5.00 for a hot dog w/ celery salt and onions is a little steep. Also, if you want to be told to F*&^ Off by the bar tenders than this is your place. A St. Paul fixture, worth seeing at least once.

For you northern types - Bennetts on W. 7th & Victoria is owned by a guy from Eveleth - he played at Duluth with Hull - that's why he stops in. Great food, affordable and a shuttle to the X.
Also a neighborhood dive called Skinners about a mile west of W 7th on Randolph - chow and bevvy prices are right.

Almost forgot for ice cream lovers...a short 5 minute drive from the Xcel to the Grand Ole Creamery (Grand Avenue) is worth the trip. Homemade ice cream and waffle cones that can't be beat in town...

Hot Turkey @ McGoverns is two blocks from the X, and good people watching upstairs in the bar later...
If you want to get away from downtown, go up the hill to Grand Ave, where one can find many great eats, great variety too...
