Drew Brevig, a freshman from LS who plays on their top line. Nick Bjugstad another freshman from Blaine.

Taylor Zepada from Hill

I'm also looking forward to seeing what Roseau's coach does this year. He played last years tournament attacking teams weaknesses, most just try to do what their teams do best, it seemed he attacked what the other teams did worst.

very true about Roseau, always attacking the weakness in their opponents and shutting them out with their control of the puck and awesome transitioning with the puck from defense to offense prolly the best at it in the state, also lee keeping the opposing team off the board, he averages wut less than a goal a game almost half of his wins are shut outs and is 37-0 his varsity career
TOP players to look for would be
NESS
LANDMAN
LEE
NELSON
KNOCKEMUS

Just Brown.. Jokinen hasn't been doing much lately
I agree. I watched the finals and Jokinen didn't impress me much, however it seems like Cloquet is going into state with just, "What can brown do for you?" I hope he plays like he did during playoffs.

Excellent list..you definately know your hockey!! The Blaine kids are underrated. Don't agree with all the bolds but it will do....Eddy too much press we'll see how they do against a top 5 team in Benilde. Blaine can pull off the big upset...and Hill has an undeserved easy game...

scoring leaders do not mean crap...c'mon...get real...there are a lot of things that go into scoring..especially coaching..how many lines..competition..many coaches on good teams sit there 1st line after a route in the 1st or 2nd period with an occasional shift...you've seen mankato, little falls, and other teams...true it takes talent but philosophy of coaching really influences scoring leaders...Leivermann is the real deal as he performed at Elite League....look at history and you will be surprised at the list above against good competition. You must be an east dude....

I saw on the media guide that Noah Gavin is on the first line of STA. Is that true and should it be true? How's he doing?

The scoring leaders don't matter? They do in the Lake Conference. That's why Edina is still playing.

As far as Frenchy goes, you don't get somethin' for nothin'. I hope everyone involved can look in the mirror every morning

It wouldn't surpise me. He is a very good player. I am guessing the Vannelli's are trying to deepen their lines. Walter's will probably be on the first line with Gavin and most likely Rooney. Then they will drop Saintey down to 2nd line with Isaackson and maybe Sienko. They have done this before. This tends to be the game plan for STA when they are playing teams with 1 good line. If they can spread the scoring across a couple lines, they will be very tough to beat.

I'm looking forward to watching Hill's underrated second line of Singerhouse, Widing and Zapeda do some damage at the X! They scored both goals against WBL, and it was actually Singerhouse that hit Johnson with the pass to set up the game winning goal, and won the faceoff to set up the game opener, he should have had 2 assists in that game to go along with Widings 2 assists and Zapeda's great goal. Don't get me wrong there are alot of great players in the tourny but this line has really been overlooked since they started playing together. With Zapeda finally healthy they may be the key for a Hill run.

I agree Tommie, on the Hill Murray-Moorhead telecast all the talk was about the 1st and 3rd lines, but this line can dominate, I'm looking forward to the Roseau game, assuming of course no upsets on Thursday night.

George Blanda wrote:Some that I am personally excited to see...

Class A

Ryan Walters - STA - The Opportunist- yes he scored but looked lazy last night, I was expecting more. Good thing others are working hard to make him look good.
Landon Olson and Dano Jaques- Duluth Marshall
Josh Birkholz - Blake
Nate Schmidt and Steve Rindelaub - SCC
Ben Hanowski - Little Falls
Ricky Litchfield and Cory Leiverman - Mankato West
Bryce Ravendalen - Warroad

Class AA

Mike Lee and Aaron Ness - Roseau
Zach Budish, Anders Lee, and Joe Gleason - Edina
Chris Student and Jacob Meyers - BSM
Hakan Yumusakler - L'ville South
David Eddy - Woodbury
Justin Jokinen and David Brown - Cloquet

The person who I want to see most in the AA tourney (well, maybe 2nd after Ness) may be nothing more than a 3rd/4th line player for Hill-Murray. I want to see Monte French for the first time since he traded in his Crusaders sweater for the Hill sweater.
