Was a much better game than anticipated. The GR boys played tough scrappy hockey and hung tight for 3+ periods. As always, questionable reffing both ways. The OT winner was scored on the PP immediately following a terrible non-call against Edina. The final call against Rapids was borderline at best, but what do you do, Edina earned the W and Rapids can hold their heads up and be proud of their effort. For the record, great community support for the JG teams. The arena was loud and had great atmosphere. GR really stood up and supported their team. Nice job!boblee wrote:#1 Edina 3

Fun game to watch. I caught the 2nd, 3rd and OT. Edina had way more scoring opprotunites and the Rapids netminder kept them in it.
I thought the tripping penalty in OT was very weak.

If you thought the calls in the Edina game were bad, you obviously missed the consolation game. Rapids had to beat Duluth and the REFS. They fought hard and almost came back. And I can't help but mention that Duluths third goal never went in...
