the big guy did play and hit the pipe 2x. one time early on in the first period. had he scored the game would have been 4-2 and potentially out of reach. he is a nice player with a serious size advantage. i am glad the rumors proved to be false.

minneapolis park defeats highland central 10-3. in a game that was closer than the score would indicate. congrats to the players and coaches of minneapolis park. you deserved to win the district 1 championship.

irondale beat washburn and johnson to advance to the 2nd place game for the district. the winner advances to the red division and playes against faribault, edina, and eden prairie. The loser gets another matchup with mpls park then new prague and chaska.

I'm confused, and it's easier to ask you than to look it up myself. Did Highland make it to regions, or do they have to win one more? Thanks

this regional tourney is junk besides Edina Chaska and EP. d1 is weak. along with the New Prague and Fairbault. Edina and EP or Chaska somewhere in there will make it to state. No competition for them without d6 teams. Saw New Prague at New Hope Tourney. Pretty good but no comPetition for EP EDINA AND CHASKA

Slapshot88 sure is opinionated and somewhat jaded (simply based upon their comments on the board), but I do agree that D1 is indeed down (and soon to be out) with the exception of a nice team from Mpls. Park. The Storm can/will compete in the South Regional next weekend at Chaska. Aside from the Storm, the D6 trio of Chaska, Edina and EP will be the cream of the crop with two of those three advancing to the state tourney. D4 (Faribault & New Prague) will not fair much better than Irondale & St. Paul Highland.

It's tourney time and upsets happen. Mpls. Park has the best chance of playing spoiler in this region, and I expect they along with Chaska, EP and Edina will be playing in next Sunday's semis.

If St.Paul combined all of their assosiations and minneapolis did the same with theirs, the cities would send two competitive teams each year to regions.

irondale beat highland central 2-1 in a disspirited game. the regions look like this...

red
1. edina
2. eden prairie
3. faribault
4. irondale

blue
1. chaska
2. minneapolis park
3. highland central
4. new prague

faribault has the best player i have seen in the state so far. i believe his name is alex rodriguez, if he is not kept in check faribault could be difficult to handle.

minneapolis park is a very good team with an excellent chance to be the 2nd seed in its division and pull the top seed in the red division. i feel they have a better than 50-50 chance to pull out an upset on Sunday and go to the state tourney.

Faribault beat Mpls park 6-2 and the shots were like 40-9

Hockey masta,
You might be right but I know the Como kids would rather play at the rec. centers than play with the Highland kids. There are a few different reasons but the biggest one would be I will not pay anywhere from $800 to $1500 so the ice scheduler at Highland can make $35,000 a year (you know who he is) and some of there coaches getting paid different salaries.
Highland has been taking our players long enough I wish Jeff would just say enough is enough.

U are 2 funny Tunavicy... Como kids are evidently not alone as I have heard of some Highland kids that would prefer not to play with some Highland kids too. Evidently a few bad apples in the 2nd year mix at the peewee level that have caused lots of problems for the non-parent coach and other players.

If Highland has been taking Como players "long enough" already, why did those players want to leave Como and pay more money? Were they forced? I have heard how many poeple hate Highland for many years. When the merge of Highland and Central happened a long, long time ago, whoever was in charge of the TC at the time must have allowed it to happen and it has never been changed since.

Waivers will never stop unless it comes from the top anyway. And another thing, there are bad apples all over the place, it is a matter of how they are handled in the end.
