Bull. Unless it was the 02-03 season, and the game was technically played in the first half of the season hence it was '02. I remember Anoka pulling away to a big 3+ goal lead by the end of the game and I wondered where the heck Anoka came from...and then understanding why they were so good later when they won the state championship.

What a team that was, huh. Oly minding the nets. Lol does any one remember Manthey with that bleach blonde hair that the team did, and his crazy black beard. Haha

I'm still going with a W.

EREmpire...glad to see you pop you head up...tell me...your lack of commentary this past season regarding your favorite team...does this result from you being...
A) Really busy with school
B) In Prison (with no internet access)
c) In the Witness Protection Program
D) Too depressed to comment due to the end of open enrollment

Where have you been?

Back to the topic at hand...will Elk River pull the upset and beat Anoka on Thursday?? Not a chance!! Anoka will win by at least 3 goals!

That would definitely light a spark in the NWSC if Anoka loses to ER.

Not at all. My memory just is bad. Are you sure they tied in 03? Whatever year it was that Anoka won state, I think 03, they beat ER pretty badly something like 6-3 (in Anoka) or worse? I guess that one game just stuck in my head.
Well after some research, i have to admit i was wrong. Elk River won 4-1 in 2003 at Anoka. They actually tied the next year in Elk River 3-3. here are the recent scores for the games played in Anoka.
Thursday, January 21, 1999- Elk River 7, Anoka 1
Thursday, January 27, 2000- Elk River 5, Anoka 1
Thursday, January 25, 2001-Elk River 6, Anoka 1

The better question to reseach (rayfinkel) is when was the last time Anoka broomed ER?
And when was the last time ER beat Anoka without "Open Enrollment Players"?
Even this season, two of their Captains played Association hockey for Princeton (Ryan McElhone) and Maple Grove (David L.)...both are excellent hockey players whose skills were developed thru summer hockey and winter hockey in non-ER Associations.

98-99, sorry to upset you about posting the scores. i was just trying to prove a point. but you are correct elk river does usually have open enrolled players on there teams. which is not against the rules.

Posting the scores doesn't upset me in the least bit...its actually kind of interesting....however this score..
Thursday, January 23, 2003- Elk River 4, Anoka 1
...didn't prevent Anoka from winning the AA State Title in 2002-2003

I toss a red flag from my belt and challenge those scores. Where did you get those numbers from, rayfinkle? I challenge the fact that your post indicates we have a 9 (+?) game winning streak in the Anoka building. I do not do drugs of any kind, and I drink maybe once a month or less, and I have a memory in my brain of Elk River losing to Anoka in Anoka somewhere in the 02-04 range. Either I had a very realistic dream that I have registered as a real life event, or you have some of your scores mixed up maybe with a home game score. If I am proven wrong I'll be the first to admit, but I want to know I'm wrong, and my memory is that bad, before I do such a thing. I see you have ER 7, Anoka 2 in 2003. That is a score that sounds familiar, but my memory says it read the other way around.
So where did you get those scores from?

I looked on this very website under archives. and then looked at boys regular season scores. i then looked for the score of the 05 game in anoka which i know was 5-4. Anoka was listed second. i then went on by looking at all the scores for the elk river vs anoka games with anoka being listed second. then listed them.

LOL you are a special one thats for sure.
Winning team is listed first on this site, not home team. So yes, you have successfully proved Anoka lost every game in which they were listed second, good job.(in the case of a tie teams are listed alphabetically).

BOOMSHOCKALOCKA!
I knew it. Not gonna be a jerk and rub it in your face, but I was simply at that game and watched it with my own eyes.
However maybe we have won there more often in recent past than I thought? Either way, I can't make it to tonight's game and I wish I could. I hope you guys write up some good reviews. Unless Anoka wins, then just a boxscore will do...

Berkley Scott with 2 goals; John O'Neill with 1 goal and 1 assist; Dustin Olson with 1 goal and 1 assist; Jeff Lesmeister with 2 assists; Tony Rush with 1 goal; Cory Belisle and Brandon Derks each with 1 assist; (I may be missing an assist or two from other Anoka players) and JD Wells wins his 6th straight game in goal!

3-1 Anoka
3-2 Anoka
4-2 Anoka
4-3 Anoka

Yea, Sarsland plans to retire. But, he has plotted a miraculous spout out of retirement as soon as the transfer rule changes.
Come on man, he has done great things in ER whether some of us like him or not. He isnt going anywhere.
