A great story I heard goes like this.

A coach of team is furious at a ref for a bad call. The ref comes over to him and is scolded for the poor officiating. The ref responds " I got an 80% correct score on my ref test this year. That means 20% of the calls I make tonight will be wrong, deal with it"

Death wish? This occurred at a U12A playoff game at Hayes Arena in the early 2000's. Minnetonka and Edina are having a heated game and for some reason the Minnetonka coaches get in a shouting match with the Edina coaches and appear to want to settle things "in the parking lot" after the game; at least until they realize who they are arguing with...Mike Peluso. It got real calm and civilized after the Mtka coaches recognized who they were dealing with.

The next night we played Edina and the tourney director was worried about a repeat performance between our coaches and Mr.Peluso. So, he arranged a pre-game meeting with the Edina coaches and our coaches. I quickly assured the director that I already had designated my assistant as our combatant with Mr.Peluso; he actually thought I was serious.
