I think Rosemount will have too much power for Woodbury.....say they DO happen to meet in the finals. If its Eastview it should be a dandy of a game to watch. I still think Rosemount will sqeak it though to come out on top.

As of right now, what do you guys think the 1, 2, and 3 seeds are?
1-Rosemount
2-EV
3-Woodbury
As of now, rosemount deserves to be the #1 seed. They beat EV in ot, and are playing very well. If EV beats rosemount the second time around, and continues to win, do you guys think they will get the number one seed? The only was i see this happening is if EV does beat rose, and EV continues to win and Rose drops some games. I think woodbury could be a contender for the 2 seed, but they have dropped some questionable games-and EV and Rose strength of schedule puts them in front. Its going to be a fun fight for the top 3 seeds!

the only reason sibley sucks so much is cause all of their youth players leave to hill murray, st. thomas, and CDH
i was watchin the cretin sta game and 8 of the players in that game played sibley area youth hockey so they would be beastin if they all stayed

My dumb question: How do they seed the sections?
Do conference records matter for anything?

Section coaches get together at the end of the season and rank teams in an order(don't rank your own team though) seeded by least number of points.
Example: Rosemount is ranked a 1 seed by another coach that counts for 1 point.
Coaches can take into consideration anything they want including who they do or don't want to play if they want. Conf. records can be used as can a section record head-to-head with a team or common opp.

The coaches of each team have a meeting. I believe they plead their cases and vote who gets what seed. Not exactly sure.

well said hockeyjunkie. Going into the section meeting, coaches have a pretty good idea where teams will fall, its just a matter of where. Most of the time its a pretty intense meeting, and the intensity carries over into sections.

This is kind of a tough question, but here it goes:
Why is Rosemount having so much success this year, when it's basically the same team returning? Was it the lack of experience? or what?

My guess would be that it was the inconsistency of the goalie last year. Morgan is playing very well this year game in and game out. He is giving his team a chance to win.
Or.. it could be the new uniforms....

I agree with you Morgan has been better for them this year and also the seniors have really stepped up their game this year, could be because of experience, or the fact that they wanted it bad enough and went and worked for it in the off-season to improve.
Thanks STEV, I do agree with you also on the fact that intensity sure does carry into sections for some of those teams after a fired up meeting.

I think the experience has played a big role into Rosemounts success this year. All those seniors this year know that this is their last chance to shine. Morgan is also playing a ton better than last season. On top of that, its basically the entire team that returned.....which helps with chemistry, etc.

that happens to every public school in the metro with the exception of edina. look at some of the players woodbury would have on the team right now if all kids living in woodbury played there:
Dan Cecka-HM
Tyler Zepeda-HM
Rudy Pitera-CDH
Mychal Bangs-CDH
Nick Pryor-Ann Arbor (official residence is still Woodbury)
^that's just a few^
and woodbury is still a VERY good team so don't blame all you troubles on transfers

Derek Stepan-shattuck St. Mary's
Ryan Stepan-STA
Alex Riveness-STA
Charlie Raskob-Holy Angels

Oh al right you haven't seen there games vs. Woodbury and Eastview Woodbury- Rosemount won 6-5 Eastview- Rosemount won 5-4 they may have been close but Morgan is playing hot lately and if he keeps his consistency they will beat anyone in 3AA come to AV and go and watch this game Rosemount vs. Eastview this is the test of the seeding for both the Lake and 3AA

If you actually want to see the game, you should probably go to the Rosemount arena, not AV. It's a home game for the Irish

Ha ha my mistake I went brain dead on that one but it should be a great game obviously both teams show that they can score I assume Morgan will be in net for the Irish and for EV O'Shea

Irish may have some good music in their favor.
I think the clovers will wrap it up by a goal in a jam packed sellout arena this saturday when the clovers host the bolts
