Whats with all the bashing of Gorg. I think he does a great job. FSN's crew is much better then it was 3 or 4 years ago when we didn't get to watch high school hockey until the state tourny. Keep up the great work Gorgie & FSN, I for one enjoy your work on high school hockey.

If you don't like Gorg you have two simple options: (1) turn the sound down or, (2) wait for a basketball game to come on and see what you think of those announcers.
I think Gorg is great. He's knowledgeable about hockey at three levels (high school, college and NHL), he's funny and he loves his local teams. He also has a firm grasp of the concept of not ripping the high school kids for their errors and that obviously leads to times when the topics can turn a bit soft.
It looks to me like half the people on this board like Gorg and appreciate the opportunity to watch more hockey then any other area in the country. The other half talk negatively and my guess is that it's because they're jealous that Gorg gets to watch live hockey 6 nights a week and get paid for it.
P.S. I'm not a relative of Gorg's. Just surprised about some of the things people find to complain about.

Thanks, Kevin. I couldn't have said it beter myself. Keep up the good work - fans don't boo nobody's.

Angus: I'll pass that along should I ever meet him. Let me know when you get to his level and then I'll stand up for you in one of these spots.

I think Marney is pregnant, but I don't know for sure. My wife is starting to agree with me based on how she has been dressing lately, even though she always dresses pretty conservative. Gorg is about 7 months along it looks like to.
There is a conspiracy theory for you!
This was actually confirmed after the new years eve wild post game show on FSN. Gorg and Marny made the announcement that she is indeed pregers.

I must have missed that. I watched the game, but didn't catch the post game.
For the record, I don't mind Gorg but he is kind of fun to make fun of. As long as they carry Wild, Gopher, & MN High Hockey I don't care who is announcing because you can always push the MUTE button.

Check the thread, speedreader. I'm one of the few backing this talent!

So I’m reading along through page one and thinking…
“Well, at least Gorg isn’t as bad as Housley was @ last years State tourney.”
I was also thinking, “Hey lets not knock FSN too bad – at least we have some televised High School games.”
Then I get to JBone’s post demanding Marne to either shed some clothes or be an angry naïve hockey mom. I’m not sure I would really want to see the former but, I don’t care who ya are, that’s some funny stuff there. G1 Man.

FOX is awesome for broadcasting high school hockey.
GORG might actually do a decent job if he spoke to his audience.

I like the coverage, but how about Darby's hair cut? I think he needs to try something different.

Hair cut, I thought his kids cut it with a scissors while he was napping.

AMEN... FSN's crew isn't even comparable with the crew that 45 throws together for the state tourney. If there is any complaining to do, I'd say channel 45 is where it should be aimed.

Gorg does a fine job. I can't imagine it would be an easy job. Anyone that has ever done any public-speaking can attest to the how hard it is. Whenever I see him doing his schtick on FSN he's apparently doing it live and sometimes in front of a live audience. I'd like to see all of these Gorg-haters try that.

Agreed. 45 is horrible.

Anyone check the football or basketball site. Just wondering if their elite complain or are as picky as we are about their TV talent? One of the hardest lessons there is to learn in life is that we don't know how good we have it - until its gone! Who ever is responsible for taking the time and effort to convince the tv gods that putting high school hockey on tv for all of us to enjoy was equally as insightful to have picked the talent to cover it. If you don't like listenting to the talent - god gave you a mute button, if you don't like seeing there faces - take that time to hit the head! But please, don't let those people misbelieve that we are not greatful for what they bring us!

Wow
Get over yourselves already. They are televising HS hockey! Some of you might not be old enough (as evidenced by the posts in this thread), but a few years ago they didn't do that. So be happy that you can sit down on the couch on a Thursday night and watch a game that you otherwise would have never seen.

I think it is great that FSN is doing HS games. Gives me a chance to see games that i can't get to. What I would like them to do is leave open a couple of the dates and then see how teams are doing and try to televise some key matchups that develop during the season. Kinda like NBC does with football later in the year

davey's right - being able to see HS hockey on TV is huge! I bet FSN needs to get higher ratings and wants to turn more people into the kind of HS Hockey fans that are on this board. I know most of you really know the game and I doubt that he's trying to talk down to any knowledgeable fans - he's just trying to "educate" the casual fans so they'll know the game better & appreciate it more.
You all need to chill out - we're lucky FSN is bringing this great product to us!
Also - if you think Gorg's full of $#!+, you should listen to his rant on Gabby & LeMaire in KFAN - he was dead nuts on with that bit.
