Warroad will vote EGF #1
Everyone else will or should vote Warroad #1.
PR will not get #1 seed.
If they do not lose they may get the #2 seed, but I don't think will.
#3 seed is what they will get and may deserve.
I agree whole-heartedly. If they can get some tougher opponents on their schedule next year; the likes of Warroad, Roseau and some others, then they may have a chance at a #1 seed. Beating up on lesser opponents wont get them above #2 or 3...

I hope PR ends the regular season strong going into sections. A # 2 seed would be nice....we will see what happens...good luck the rest of the season!!...and the answer the question....i think they can go undefeated this regular season....they need to keep playing hard

The thing is, DL, Wadena, Crookston and a few others on this schedule aren't usually lesser opponents. The fact that these teams are down this year should be talked about more than placing blame on PR and/or its schedule...
PR has tried its damndest to schedule better competition. The fact that they don't get it yet is motivation for their players and fans...

I agree. It is a good schedule for PR. PR has a strong player this year and a some good supporting cast. You try and put the Roseau's, Moorhead's, Grand Rapids on their schedule in a year when they don't have the stud player it would be a disaster. PR is a small town with a small hockey program. Expecting more from them is wrong. Every so often they will put together a nice team like this year.

Right on, Sir Elliott..the nice thing was when I was in PR for the holidays is you saw darn near the whole team playin' open hockey together on off days... They're a pretty dedicated, close-knit bunch....

I agree, Park's schedule is what it should be. If they wait for Warroad to schedule them, they'll be waiting a long time. RLF went through this exact same thing when Knott, Knott, and Larson were a line about 10 years ago. However, RLF hasn't had a team like that since.
My only suggestion for PR is to see if they can do a double date thing with Brainerd. A good metro two-some won't go up there to play PR and DL, but they might go up there to play Brainerd and PR.

PR used to go south and play a combo with Blake, Minnehaha, Como Park and a few others I can't think of...not sure why that stopped...

Well said, you hit it all right on the head.
I personally hopes PR makes a run in sections this yr. After this year i think it will be a long long time before they have a team like this again. After this yr they will need to replace about 75% of their scoring in Lehrke and knapp, 3 of their 5 defensemen that see ice, there starting goalie, and two senior fowards that are pretty solid in winkler and hensel.
they'll have to have mcmorrow logg about 40+ minutes a game next year, and he'll have to quit turning the puck over

Scheduling has a lot to do with who the head coach knows. Old teamates or friendly rivals like to play each other once they become coaches. Also the longer a coach has been around the more connections he makes.

Yeah, PR started playing these teams from the Cities because of Lindquist(Bloom. Jefferson,) - when he coached at Blake, and McMorrow - who stepped down from PR 6-7 years ago. My guess is travel expenses has a lot to do with it on the PR side, and the unwillingness of cities teams to travel to PR on the other, as was already mentioned...

The thing is, getting a #1 seed and actually playing like it are two different things. Give them that harder schedule and see how they do, if they are strong in that schedule then a #1 seed is fine. We should remember though that a #1 seed is NOT a championship and a weak schedule should not the only thing we should use to measure a team. Wadena took an undefeated record into sections a few years ago, got the #1 seed, won the section, but lost at state.
A tougher schedule is always a good idea, but not completely nessacary.

What were the scores E70? I assume the Saints probably kept it close if it was at the Colliseum.

They beat Como 5-3 at the Colliseum. Lehrke had 3 and set up the other two.
I saw that game and DL and the Saints.
DL did not look good.
Saturday with the Saints was 4 or 5 to nothing (I was not there).

3-8 TRF (#78 ) jumps ahead of 11-0 PR (#80) on PS2
I think this is funny. What is being discussed now is exactly why I started the thread, and when I did I got put down for no reason about it. They seem to be how Little Falls was two years ago. Absolutely no reason for any better teams to schedule them because they will probably no back to square one in a couple years. It's like the Hawaii/Boise St thing.
What grade is their star player in?

senior
As are most of the better supporting cast.

That's too bad, so it's this year or nothing then. Well, I'm hoping they get respect and do really well.

They did play in the 8A finals last year if I'm not mistaken and have been in the top 4 in this Section for the past 5-6 years. They won't get respect until they make it out of 8A...which is fine.
Taking nothing away from what they're doing this year I really don't think they're any better than the past few years. I would say the competition is down if anything...

Little Falls was ranked #1 or #2 for most of the year that year with alot more fire power on offense ...PR isn't even in the top 10. These 2 situations really aren't even close. I would put it more along with what Wadena did a few years ago - and they got beat down rather severely at State.

I played against those guys 40 mins a night for a couple years. Wasn't really much fun...

First off they didnt play in the section finals last year, it was the semi finals against warroad.
secondly i have to disagree with you. I beleive they are better this yr when compared to last. Granted it is almost the same team as last yr with the exception of a few players, they are getting more production out of their second line this yr which never happened last year.
Dont get me wrong its a long shot for them to win the section, it could happen but the odds still arent great. But i do beleive that they can get their this year if they keep playing good down the stretch and intoo sections

It's called an analogy. Both teams are good with weak schedules. Two years ago LF got beat down badly going 1-2 at state, finishing 6th, with a 1 goal win over a down team.
If you they make it to state, PR would probably do about the same, but anything's possible.
