Did Lea Jondahl play for Cretin in goal I know she was supposed to start today? This was her first game eligible and if so a big win.

Personally I would consider every one of the first round games an upset.

How in the world is GRG over CDH an upset?

Hats off to Cretin for taking advantage of a 13-3 penalty edge. 3 PPGs to beat BSM in a tight one. Lea Jondahl also had an outstanding game!

The refs in this game were terrible. They forgot that there was a penalty called hooking and CDH took full advantage. Absolutely by far the worst officiated High School game I have witnessed

I was at the CDH/ BSM game, I along with several others watched more the one cheap shot by Benilde after whistles, and a couple checking calls that the refs missed in favor of BSM. Maybe they missed a couple of trips? That's the game. I think BSM was also penalty ridden in their game that they lost eariler in the tournament to HM as i believe they lost kinda in the same fashion on the penalty kill at the end of the game? I see a trend.

Again, CDH won this game fair and square and had the game been called even they still would have had a good chance of winning.

I just feel as did many others that the Referees did a terrible job in this game and that was from non biased folks as well. There could have been at least 10 hooking calls and maybe 5 interference calls against CDH and they did not call one of them. I give a lot of credit to the CDH coaches as it seemed as though they recognized this and took full advantage.

As for the Hill Murray game, penalties were BSM 8 Min to HM 6 Min and was a very simliar fast up and down game. This does not indicate any trend to me. On the season BSM is averaging 7 Minutes per game, which is probably about normal

Again the refs just plain stunk

I was sitting there with two college coaches and a good friend of mine as we listened to BSM fans complain. Obviously we are all neutral fans, but in reality there was only one real bad no call. BSM just takes too many penalties. They did on Thursday, they did when GRG visited them in November, and they did Friday.

First, I would agree that BSM took too many penalties in the three games mentioned. And I would agree that in yesterday's game nearly all that were called against them were deserved. But only one real bad non-call against CDH? Come on! Cretin's players were hooking and using their sticks the whole game. Maybe the BSM coach should have told their players to fall down when they felt the opponent's stick get in there around their legs. That alone would have helped even up the calls in this game.

But overall I agree that BSM needs to play more disciplined, without getting less aggressive on the forecheck, etc. Play tough, but play smart as they say.

he didn't say the no call should have been against CDH just that there was one in his opinion.... could've been that checking call

Each team was called for one hooking penalty in the game. They basically just didn't call hooking, either way.
