I think the initial goal is 6 teams - maybe 3 or 4 in the midwest and 3 or 4 on the east coast.
8 would be the top end for a while as more girls gear up to this level and of course, teh college #'s need to bump up a bit, also.
I haven't heard the final "word" but I'm hearing there will be four teams in the east (NAHA, Dawson College-Montreal, Boston Shamrocks, Washington Pride) and four in the Mid-West/West (Little Caesars, Chicago Mission, Warner School-Alberta, Pacific Steelers-BC) in the JWHL.

I have not heard anything about USA Hockey issues, but then again I haven't talked to the registrar for the Mass District since before the USA Hockey winter meetings. It will be interesting to hear what, if anything, was discussed regarding the JW, or any other "junior" teams and leagues.
