A 11 or 12 year old kid comes up and says Dad I really want to play for the Fire. My best friend on my summer team is playing for them this year and he wants me to as well. I really want to Dad! What about your friends from the association? I would rather play with my best my friend.

If you don't think a kid can't make a choice like that you were either a very insecure kid, had overly demanding parents, or just not very bright.

I raised my kids to be able to make that type of decision. That doesn't mean I won't shoot it down if it is not feasible.

Funny how we give kids credit for making the choice to play 3 sports but they don't get credit for picking the team they want to play for. HMMMMMMMM

Thank you, thank you, thank you. =D>

I think I get it, just confused by the double negative ...don't think a kid can't?....I'd say some kids can and there are some that shouldn't.

Dan Molenaar has picked it up this past year.

Dan Carlson is another top player. You should see this kid on the Blades 1993 team.

I confused myself with the double negative. I fixed it for you.

Christian Horn from Armstrong will be a top player this year.
Top 5 point getter on his team last year and he was age appropriate to be a Peewee.

Breakout--

I've been reading this site for a couple of years now and I must say it gets really tiresome that you feel the need to jump on people any time someone notes the name of a player they think is good that you may not know of, accusing them of being an arrogant dad or a kid blowing their own horn. Who are you, the hall monitor? Leave em alone, a lot of people have opinions on who is talented besides you.

I don't talk myself up, especially not on boards like this. I'm not Andrew Ford, or Kyle Beaton  .

Suprises me that a top A bantam player this year would of played B1 the year before. You would think if was a top player he would of made the A team first year....unless their A team was really that good the year before. Thats not saying Roseau's A team last year wasn't good, they went to the official state tourney, but I could bet he isn't gonna be a top A player this year if played B last season.

Chillout,

Just because a player played bantam b1 last year doesn't mean that he couldn't be a top bantam a player this year. All players develop at different rates.

Maybe MJ20 watched and/or played with him this summer and knows something that the rest of us don't know?

Most definitely stud-lee...

Just saying that it's not as likely and you would think in an association like Roseau he probably would of made it first year. But hey, I've seen kids come from B2 to A and be a top player on their team.

Oh and no disrespect for Roseau whatsoever on saying that. How can you? One of the greatest hockey dynasties in that state.

A few Faribault players really impressed me...as well as a few Dodge County players. Don't know if they could be considered a few of the top in the state but they looked very good.

Actually hockeyman, my post was replying to a different post that was deleted, where someone had been saying that a top player was a player from last year's B1 team from Roseau. I was not referring to the post about the red-haired kid.
