Orono and Breck have to be the favorites. Orono has a very strong Junior Class led by Persian, Skoog and the Hansen brothers. Breck has an elite group of 10 Sohpmores and Rehkamp and Winegarden. Both should have solid goaltending. Blake just isn't deep enough this year.

Good luck this year Alan. Blake will be deeper this year.

Blake lost 6 seniors last year.3 were starters, 1 missed most of the season.
The Bears WILL be fine.

Providence may be ok this year as well. They have a number of seniors this year and a decent goalie. They will probably struggle in the coming years as they appear to be having a hard time getting new players in and keeping some of the younger players.

As for Blake, to me it looks like they have one star in Birkholz (no question, he is very good) and 3-4 pretty good players after that the soup looks a little thin. They don't have nearly as much talent as they had 2-3 years ago.

Well thats one more "star" than Breck has.

Joe is a good player but certainly not a star.

Yogi,

Joe is a very good player. Maybe not as good as Birk, but no question they are going to be a better team with all of the 10th graders and better goalie. It's going to be a fun year!

Depends on who your new coach is.

Mound looks pretty decent this year. Anyone have an idea who will be starting between the pipes this year for Orono?

1 - Orono
2 - Breck
3 - Blake Teddy Bears

orono doesnt have a chance they dont have enough fire power to take breck or blake. blake has a good goalie and some very talented forwards. breck has a lot of young talent which will allow them to have a very good first and second lines and a decent third line with a good goalie also.

Anyone know if Ian Wilson will be the go-to goalie for Orono??

I heard he is not only the "go-to" but the "only" goalie at Orono this year.

So it sounds like Orono is a little short on goalies eh? that sucks!

Guess the Gophers like "Birk" better too. Read it at the following link:
