Ford has no business wearing a Twins uniform right now, I don't get what they see in him. Tyner is a capable contact hitter with some speed and a decent glove and is a good fit as the fourth outfielder, but Ford? I think Radke could hit better than him right now.
I'll be at the game tonight and then it'll be up north for a family vacation till a week from Friday. I'll be here in spirit though.

The ultimate humility would be to pinch hit for him using a pitcher. Maybe he's taking estrogen as a supplement.

You know, they rip parents for thinkng that their little Johnny is going to be a major leaguer someday and rightfully so..............but guys like Ford and Tyner are.
Since sections started , have been able to watch a little HS ball and I think I have seen a number of guys who are better than those 2.
Thats great Chrisk, your hero's arm is shot and now you want to bring him back as a hitter. It never ends.

I will also be at the Dome this evening. The Twins' record when Govs is in the park currently stands at 3-3 which includes the series in KC. They are 2-1 when I'm in attendance at the Dome.
Just thought I'd throw my own useless stats into the mix.

I just heard Bert say "Hi-Ho Silva" in the pre-game broadcast. More solid proof they read this board, and pass on our tips to Gardy and the players.
I hope ChrisK's attendance can offset Govs. But hey, maybe they'll circle that Booof chick!

Irishmans Shanty wrote:What do you suppose old packerboy was thinking about Hunters sqeeze bunt with two outs in the first?
Well Shanty, I'll let him rant if he wants, but I liked it. I'm sure it wasn't called, and it worked. And it shows everyone there isn't one ounce of "me" in him. So he might mention something about signing him.

It wasn't the pitcher, it was us ragging about him. If thats what it takes, I'll be happy to keep it up!
Ford still reeks!

As someone who gave the Twins a lot of grief for keeping Silva this year, allow me to eat my words, he pitched a good game last night. He's had some shaky moments but for the most part has been a solid part of the rotation this year. My brother in law thought he saw Carlos getting a little swagger in his step near the end of the game last night.
So just as I'm telling my brother in law that we won't have to worry about Ford hitting a foul ball up to us in the second deck behind home plate he knocks the ball out of the park. He got a good laugh out of that so I immediately bet him that Ford would not get another hit for the night. Needless to say the bucket of practice balls we'll be hitting on vacation next week will be on my brother in law.
James came within one batter of getting knocked out of the game except that he stumbled into the pitcher's paradise part of the Twins' lineup, Cirillo-Ford-Punto.
Did packerboy have another heart attack when Torii bunted the run in early in the game?

32-31
Silva got some business done
Only have to win 2 more
On the way to 34
I dont mind Hunter buntng for a base hit. He has power so they play him back and he also has speed so why not. If they cheat up to defend the bunt, drive it passed them. Thats good baseball.
Now, if Grady has him bunt with 2 on and nobody out, then I have to go take my nitro.

Do we all need to chip in to pay Shanty's internet bill?

While Admiral Shanty is in dry dock, the Twins have picked up the pace.
Hudson had the Twins number, so it was up to Wickman to do his Charlie Liebrandt impersonation.

33 is just one more
Closer to win #34
Closer is what the Braves did need
But Redmond did the dirty deed
Since IS started ths thread with a rhyme,
I thought Id add a few of mine.
Lets keep it up boys
Hit the boofin ball

As evidenced by
this headline, not only are Gardy & TR reading this board, so is the Strib.

Contrary to popular belief my internet bill is all square....for now.
After dropping the first two to Washington, I felt a house call was in order. After some first aid and a much needed script, the patient responded with four wins.
Last night's win was just an old fashioned bank robbery. I don't know if Bob Wickman's blown save will be the galvanizing win we'll look back on months from now as the turning point, but I do know it got the Twins one closer number 34.

The Brewers come to town, from the land of Milorganite
Cecil's kid surely, gives me a fright
They helped with Detroit, and put up a fight
Shanty showed up, it's a sore sight
The run has started, and were at home
And funny things happen, inside the Dome
Whether in the field, where Torii does roam
Or on the bench with Gardy, our resident gnome

IS started us off with a rhyme that was fit
Now Neut has added his talent to the bit
I dont know if our boys will go on a tear
They sure cause me to pull out my hair
They are way ahead of where they were last year
But thats no guarantee, its sure not a cure
Hit the boofin ball and pitch like you are able
Will Slowey and Baker bring enough to the table?
Can the bats of the boys come alive and stay steady?
Is Mauersota really something for which we are ready?

Go outside and take a sniff,
For in the air you'll notice a diff.
The scent of all square was once so strong,
But game by game it will soon be gone.
Three over par the Twins now sit,
Versus those teams where the pitchers hit.
With only nine more to go it's all fitting into place,
Using the National League to begin their Central chase.
Like the fate of the Braves, Milwaukee beware,
You're playing a team in the midst of a tear
