I know Bedard is a lefty, but no Kubel? hm.
How many AL clubs bat their DH in the 8 hole?
Hit the Boofin ball!
And he probably should be hitting 9th.

Hey did anybody notice that smokin hot chick in the BOOOF jersey last night? She was sitting right next to that ugly dude who threw Tejada's HR ball back. Man, was he a toad.

I move to eliminate the DH in the AL.
I like the DH but as long as the Twins aren't goint to take advantage of it, they have the least to lose by making the pitchers hit.
Make KC, CHI, ANA, DET, TOR, NY, and BOS find a place for their no defense/injured/aging/expensive sluggers.

I ended up rescuing Empire from his ticket conundrum and went to the game with my boys and a friend. A good start for the Twins, I was a bit worried that they'd come out flat but they knocked the ball around pretty good and made some nice defensive plays. Johann could've been better but he made the pitches when he needed to and he usually takes a few starts to get things cranking.
Morneau had some terrific at bats, the home run in the first at bat, then shooting a high outside fastball past the third baseman after fouling off a few pitches and later pulling a pitch that it looked like he got fooled on over the rightfielder into the baggy. Castillo also had a good night going 3 for 5.
On the other hand, Rondell White had a rough night at the plate, maybe I'm wrong about this guy. He did make a good catch out in left field though. Bartlett went 0 for 4, I frankly don't remember much about his at bats but from the hitting chart it looks like he tried to pull everything.
Miguel Tejada had a decent night at the plate, going 2-4 with a run and a RBI and made a good play to throw out Mauer early in the game, but he got picked off of first, was charged with an error on admittedly a tough play and late in the game bounced a routine throw to first that Huff was able to dig out. Kind of a spotty night for a guy that's supposed to anchor his team.
A fun night at the Dome overall, I thought of packerboy as I watched Radke throw out the first pitch.

Lucky for the Twins, Radkes "first pitch" wasnt to the Orioles.
One other thought about last night. Cuddyer looked absolutely clueless at the plate.
Oh ,and its like everybody says, when Rondell isnt beating you with his bat, he is using his glove.
The man can play left field.
Anybody else would have been standing under it for 3 seconds.

You mean a
different broad had a "BOOOOOOF" jersey? I didn't see either of those people you were describing otherwise.
I did watch a reply of the game on MLB.tv this morning, and the throw back in did look a little weak, but the turf really slowed it down, and I was in row 18.... but it was a rocket - believe me!

Packerboy, I told my son that Tyner would've got to that one standing up, but I do give White credit for the effort. White was a .290 lifetime hitter before he got to the Twins, but he hasn't looked like one in a Twins uniform.
Good point on Cuddyer, he had three K's and stranded 6 batters. What are they going to do if he regresses back to 2005 form, feed him more Creatine?
I can't comment on Govs93's throwback, I didn't see it. It's early in the season, you've got time to build up arm strength.
Anybody agree that idiots who run on the field should be tasered? Or put in public stocks outside the stadium before the following game? Or publicly flogged? The problem seems to be getting worse, I'd like to see them do something proactive to discourage it before we have incidents like they've had in Chicago.

In general, yes I do. I think the time spent in the stocks and number of "flogs" (is that the correct use of the term?) should double if you're retarded enough to do it when
YOUR TEAM'S CLOSER COMES INTO THE GAME!!! What an idiot... Can you possibly break up momentum any worse than that?! I felt like jumping the fence to throw a couple of right hands at the guy myself, but the Dome security put enough on him.
I was a little disappointed that so many in the crowd were cheering that putz. There were a few boo's, but for the most part, people were egging him on. Everybody should have jumped on that guy like he was Chuck Knoblauch.

And the last time I saw this happen it was near the end of the game with Joe Mauer coming up to bat and the Twins behind. Obviously these guys are many, many sandwiches short of a picnic and probably numerous beers past legally drunk. I imagine the guy woke up this morning wondering how he got all those bruises...

Two big keys to tonights game:
Boof gets strike one on batters.
Castillo and Punto set the table for the 3-7 hitters.

Boof also needs to last at least 5 good innings

That'll happen if he can get ahead of hitters.
11 pitches in the first. 3 first pitch strikes, two strikeouts. I like it.

That's a good outing for Boof. With the Twins 'pen, we'll take that every time.

It was good to see the itchy, twitchy, jittery, nervous, side arm slinging Pat Neshek again.
Dennys Reyes makes me nervous everytime he pitches.
He is 6-9, 267lbs. He has great velocity and movement on the fastball. His curve is sharp and late breaking. How is Cabrera a .500 pitcher?

Those pitches have trouble going where he wants them to go.

No Chris, theyll just sign another pitcher.
Good win last night for our boys.
Their offense did its usual disappearing act but they still won. Cabrera was good but got lots of help from the Twins hitters who hit about 3 balls hard all night.
Boof.
Now lets see how the rest of the starters do.
I heard on the radio coming into work that some guy did a Top Ten list of players who shouldnt be in the minors. Matt Garza was #1.

That was me.
Appearances
Joe Nathan = 2
Carlos Silva = 0
This is a great ratio.

A little over 55 hours until Silva takes the bump vs. the White Sox.
Can't wait!

I thought they were skipping him 1st time through. Should be Ortiz tonight, Ponson on Saturday and then back to Santana on Sunday.

I heard that too, but unfortunately that's not the case. Not only are they not skipping him, they moved him to #4 and Ponson to #5.
Brutal.
