Advancing Bantams :

Kleinendorst - Strong kid, needs to work on speed, however. often finds himself up in the play, needs to work on defense more.
Skrbec - This kid can play. He is fast, has good size and can shoot. May need to work on passing a little bit.
Anderson - Good kid, not the best hockey player. Slower, not the best hands, needs to keep his head up more, but good hockey sense and good d-zone play.
Mendoza - Good hockey player, with a little learning to do. Has potential.
Merritt - Good size, good shot. Not very fast, needs to think more. Biggest problem is, what position does he play? I don't think he even knows.
Schulte - Decent skater with a good shot. Has a decent amount of size to go with him, but needs to hit more. If he can make passes and play good d-zone, he will benefit.
Hamman - Big steps for him to take. Like said earlier, sitting in a tough class.
Tatter - Big kid, but size isn't everything. Needs to work on skating and shooting. Seems to pass decent and have decent smarts.
Larson - Big goalie, but needs to work on side-to-side and controlling rebounds. Has a good glove.

Agreed with just about everything said here. Kleinendorst does need to refocus and just play D. Skrbec has decent speed, but that speed is sometimes an illusion based on great stride. Others on last year's team were just as fast, but didn't appear so. How, Kleinendorst and Dick to name a few were equally as fast, but seemed to labor to get there. Merritt needs to become more consistent and like all players advancing, work on speed. Confusion about position is due to the fact of playing a new one. Once settled, will do fine. Like I said, agreed to just about everything Boblee had to say.

Any of those players have a chance with the right attitude and a strong summer of work.

Watch out for Cloquet and Duluth East.

This might be one of the best section races in years. 7AA may not be the best section in 07-08, but as of now there is reason to believe that Anoka, Elk River, Cloquet, Duluth East, Forest Lake, and Grand Rapids could all possibly be in that final game. Right now I like the chances of another Indians-Jacks final.

boblee do not forget the "super sophs" coming off from that Duluth East Bantam A hockey club. With Randolph whipping those kids into shape they are going to plug some holes in the Duluth lineup vacated by the Seniors of 2006-07. The unknown with East is will they have enough veteran help returning. To me 7AA look pretty wide open for next year. Looks like a lot of question marks exist for a lot of 7AA teams for the upcoming season.

This is going to be one of the tightest races that 7AA has had in awhile.
So what has changed it was always the toughest section and anyone can win it.It comes down to who can play 3 games.

Next years team should be very competitve. Three to four balanced lines.
It might be a good thing to not have two or three studs carry the load. The boys need to work hard this summer and put some size and strength on. The goaltending is questionable but both were pretty consistent for the JV the last two seasons. I got to see the Bantams A's play a fair amount this season and I think these kids will only prosper with new coaching. Too much negativity and old school tactics to try and motivate them. They were emotionally drained by the end of the season. Skrbec has a good chance of moving up to play varsity but anyone else would be a long shot. JV should be solid. Looking forward to next season!

I'm gonna have to agree with you 100% here. Austin Merritt is WAY overrated, and he should not be on all these select teams. I can almost guarantee he will be playing strictly JV next season.

The best defensemen moving up from Bantams is Kyle Kleinendorst.

The Team will be mostly seniors next year; most of the JV was juniors this year.

Kosak will be the leader of this team, if he stays healthy. Hopefully they can get back to state.

He actually played in a few other games as well. Also, I believe the rumor is that he redshirted his JUNIOR season.
