ok, is anyone wondering whos side Woog is on this tournament? He seems to be especially anti-gopher tonight, let me know if it is just me...

I think he tries to cover up his homerism sometimes by questioning calls and crediting the other team. He does his best to call the game without being a Gopher homer, but mainly it's just Woog being Woog.

2-1 gophers end of two periods

Another very entertaining period. Shocking to see the Gophs out-muscle the Sioux during portions of the period. Should be a great finish, might get a bit chippy.

It has been a physical game already. If it doesn't stay that way or get worse it wouldn't be the Gophers vs the Sioux.

True, I just hope the players are focused more on skating rather than retaliation. Seems like the Sioux are getting the better of trade-offs in the box when their grinders take our stars off the ice.

I had to leave for a little bit. Other than the Sioux goal, how has the period gone?

OT Gophs dodged a bullet right at the end of regulation.

Pretty even period. The Gophers got the better of the shots but the scoring opportunities were minimal for both teams. That last little flurry by the Sioux was their best scoring chance of the period. Carman and Barriball had some beautiful rushes up ice that turned into scoring chances but Lammy was up to the task.

2-2 after regulation. Shots 37-25 for Minnesota.

Unbelievable!!!! Wheeler attempting to avoid icing and pokes it past Lamoreux. What a game, it's gonna be a shame if these teams end up in the same region because both were great tonight.
