Tigerpower these are young girls that you are talking about. You really should think about what you are saying when you are using specific names. Grow up and think before you speak!

If I did offend anyone I do appologize but I also felt that my comments were fairly mild compared to others on this board... but if you wish I will go edit my posts-- though I don't see anything wrong with any of them...

At first I couldn't figure out what the 'PUCK1 was talking about so I went back and read the posts again. Let's just say your comments about the 07-08 Austin team were just a little too specific. Had you been that specific, or down, about the other teams maybe 'PUCK1 wouldn't have taken offence with your post. On the other hand, you're being lectured about maturity from a person who's first post was...
AUSTIN IS CLEARLY THE REP FROM SECTION 1 A. I HAVE SEEN THEM PLAY THE COMPETION AND THEY JUST DON'T STACK UP ESPECIALLY FARIBAULT. THE FIRST GAME WAS THE WORST REFEREED GAME I HAVE SEEN IN 10 YEARS. FACE IT THE CALIBER OF PLAYERS IS JUST NOT THERE. IN ADDITION, AUSTINS GOALIE IS FAR SUPERIOR TO THE OTHERS IN THE SECTION WITH YEARS OF EXPERIENCE. HOW WAS THE MAYO GAME SO CLOSE 40 SOG, HAS ANYONE CAME CLOSE TO BEATING MAYO OTHER THAN AUSTIN?

Okay, Puck1 feel the comforts of your child's truths covered up...
I "softened" up the Austin post for you
remind me next time just to say Forward #1 and the Previously Back Up Goalie...names are bad...

Maturity and HOCKEYPUCK1 do not belong in the same sentence. I guess we now know who HOCKEYPUCK1 is, and Jet thought it was somenone from another town.

I like Jet, but how does he deal with the hicks.
OK, new question, Rate the teams in the section from Strongest goalie to weakest.
1. AL (this is why AL is the favorite)
2. Northfield
3. Faribault
4. Austin playing 6 players
5. Redwing
6. Waseca
7. Austin with their 06-07 backup goalie

Realistically can you base a whole section favorite off of their goaltending? Many teams even in this past season had great goaltending but weren't able to win, i.e. Nixon/Blaine.
I realize you there are other factors you are probably basing your opinion on, and i can honestly say that i haven't seen much of AL in the past, but the teams that make it to state are just that, Teams, not a group led by a single individual.

We do? And you think AL is bad, stick around.
*Austin with 6 skaters at #4??

Only if 1 of the 6 is #12...

*I might lean toward Northfield at the #1, maybe and very slightly.
*Red Wing is the variable in all this, nobody seems to know anything about them.
*Was Dupay the regular goalie for Faribo? I know she started the game in AL, but I don't know if she's the "starter".
*Hard to tell with Waseca too, they(collectively) just give up a lot of goals.

No dupay wasnt the starting goalie. She came in the middle of the albert lea game for the starter who was having a weak game.

No, not many All state players, just state champions.

I realize this is all in fun and find it quite humorous most of the time. What is interesting about our backup goalie, is that her first win was against AL in 04-05, when our starter was smitten with the kissing disease a.k.a MONO.

I do believe that AL team had the legend Laura on it. A good team.
Yes, our team wil be very young and green, and who knows, who our goalie will even be. With the huge turnover, every postiion is up for grabs. It comes down to who wants to work for it more.

Are you suggesting that an AL team without Laura is not a good team?

Not at all. Just stating that a team with Laura is a good team. Let' s be serious. AL is very talented this year, and should accomplish alot. There is no excuse, for them not to do very well this year.

I knew what you meant, but I had to give you a little grief.

I agree that it's
potentially a good team and definately should contend for the Section title. With only 1 Senior next season, it will be interesting to see who steps up into the leadership role and replaces Sarah Jensen. AL should be a pretty good team for the next couple years.
On a slightly different note: Who do you like for the Big 9 title? Mayo, West, Faribo and AL should all be there. Probably as "wide open" as it's been in a few years.

All four of those are good choices. I agree that it will be tight. I don't think you will have a clean sweep like in the past. The top team could have a record like 14-4( in the big nine) or something close to that. AL and Mayo have probably the strongest goalies of the four.
What is the greatest weakness for AL? They have good coaching, forwards, defense, goalie, systems, parents.

AL won't respond. They don't believe they have any weaknesses. I overheard an AL parent the other day, they expect to be in State the next 2 years. Could happen. OK top 5 weaknesses of AL
5. Jenna Christensen, the only good forward on the team. Carry's the entire offense. She makes their #12 look good.
4. Their coaches are related, but then again, so is the entire team.
3. Twinnesota ,a.k.a. KH's dad, need I say more.
2. ZAMBONI, no matter what jail cell, or card board box, he is living in at the time, remember, he is still your cousin.
#1 weaknes.....do you see a theme......To small of a GENE POOL.
Now you will see some responses, Jet.

Definately their parents

JK people...
Can I go off a different list? IMO the feeder program is the biggest weakness of the AL team. I'll say it again, just because you can skate doesn't make you a hockey player. The ALHS coaches (and probably others too) need players who know a bit more about the game. In my eyes HS coaches should be honing and refining skills not teaching them.
Biggest
? is leadership. I'm really curious to see who is going to step up, take over and be the team leader? I'm sure that will take care of itself though.
Biggest weakness? I would say defense. There just isn't too much depth there, losing Sarah Jensen is going to be huge. AL returns All-Conference player #26 and the only Senior to-be on "D" #14, but they're going to need #3 and #9 to step up into more significant roles next year. I think given the opportunity they'll (#3 & #9) be fine. IMHO, AL plays good team defense that will also help.
AL won't respond. They don't believe they have any weaknesses.
sheess, give me a little time will ya...It's not like I'm on this board ALL the time

I do "some" work too.
OK top 5 weaknesses of AL
5. #5
is good, but she's not the only good forward on the team. I would agree she carries too much of the offense, #12, #21, #16 and #11
ALL need to be bigger contributors next year. Nice try though.

One of my favorites to watch is #15, she goes all-out all the time. Would be the best player on the team if she was better with a puck. IMO.
4. Actually I think that's a strength for this team as they balance each other out. Kind of a good cop/bad cop thing.
3. Twinnesota...what can I say? I'm not sold it's KH's dad though.
2. Definately THE biggest WEAKNESS for the AL program is ZAMBONI. For someone who has NOT been to the rink it 5-6 years, because he's banned, he sure knows a lot about the AL program

1. Wait a minute?? I thought Austin had the small gene pool and were all related. That whole Arkansas thing...

Took me a little while to "craft" my response.
Where's Twinnesota been? Rather conspicuous by his/her absense.

Man, you get around...you must travel more than Santa.
I don't think you actually heard that

, but I'm willing to bet the Faribo parents are thinking the same thing.

I have been basing my conclusion that Twinnesota is KH's dad on the fact that he jumps to her rescue about every topic and would defend her to the ends of this earth..sure you should be i favor of your hometown kids but normally not to that sort of extreme
though we're all related here aren't we?

I just threw that out there to get RSI fired up.

Don't know whether I really believe it though.

I don't, Passingham...oops no names... #12 is a good player, there also is a few more good fowards but I do have to admit... #5 (JC) is good but does need to include her teamates on her rushes a little more often, aka pass the puck

RSI. Please, we don't need another JACKSTRAW ( Team Blowhard in ALBERT LEA) !!!!! What grade is your daughter going to be in next year? I guess I could look it up on the Albert Lea roster.
Also, I only have good things to say about the tiger girls. As I have said in the past, the coaching staff is great. The Falk brothers have done a super job with the team and have earned the girls RESPECT. Don't you remember the problems they were having with the past few coaches. I think your daughter played on the U12 team then. You should be greatfull to have the Falk brothers now. If anyone can lead this team to state it will be these to coaches.
I would'nt be suprised to see this Albert Lea girls team have a nice shot at a chance to go to state in a few years. With the feeder program they have with the U12 program. That special year will come someday.
Also, my problem with the boys tigers has nothing to do with the girls. The problem started when my kid moved to the metro area in his second year " A" peewee, 6 years ago. He was living with me and wanted to go live with his mom to play hockey there. The BAD BLOOD started toward me because I still had to live in this town. I still worked and was involved with the hockey program. I only have problems with SOME of the coaches, players and parents. They kept digging up the OLD BONES every year and held it against me. The good thing is, this set of players and parents are now history after this 06-07 season and I had a nice chat with one of the coaches and it is behind us. THANK GOD.
PS. I told you many times before that I'm not BANNED from no arena. I already caught you in this LIE before and proved it because I still worked at the arena. Also , I don't need to go to the arena just to know how a team is doing. The media, radio and stats is also just as good. You don't go to all of the minnesota wild and gopher games, but you know how there doing rite? THINK ABOUT IT.

I couldn't resist...
#15 and #21 will be much, much better next fall IMO.
#21 IS the fastest skater on the ice--I feel she will be "scary" good.
both of them are go-getters.
and of course, more timely passing by the "team star(s)" would create alot of points.
T
PS--#14 will really step it up...just wait.
