you might not be from austin but i bet you are from around there. faribault maybe? but anyways.. Blake has 3 players on the list, but ya, i agree with the stillwater thing. Alex should haev never been in overtime against Breck. If the refs had any idea about hockey it would have never happened and Alex would have won 4-3. Why so many alex all state players? because they have about 5-6 talented players and a good goalie. Their strength isn't depth. The team was ranked no. 2 a large chunk of the season and made it to the state tournament and could have very easily been in the winners bracket and the tournament woulda been a whole different story. "2 and out"... both games were close games in overtime, you act as if they had a Marshall performance with a 0-12 goal differential.. and I am fully confident that a farmington or new prague team would not have beat Alex by 3-4 goals

Cards this is my last post on this thread.
Reality check, you were at the games and now read the box scores.
Hibbing outshot you 51 to 23. They controlled the game.
Breck out shot you 42-29. The 3rd you out shot them simply because Breck had to kill 6 minutes in penalties, to your 0. You scored 2 PP goals in the third. Refs?
You have a deserving goalie and that is it.

alex got outshot durign the season numerous times and only lost 2 games during the reg season... (the second loss: starting goalie wasnt in). I would not say they controlled the game, Alex had just as many quality scoring chances.
Refs? no, did you not see the gametying goal by Breck, that was an absolute JOKE. and the reason Breck had so many penalties is ebcause they are cheap and chippy. None of those penalties were wrong, if anything, there should have been MORE penalties called.
Alex got outshot by moorhead and bemidji(very good team) during the season and came away with wins, 5-2 might i add.

The fact remains that four of Alexandria Lady Cards brought home their MGHCA award. Congratulations to them! I hope everyone can join me in that sentiment.

MGHCA loses its creditability when they choose 4-5 allstate players from one team and that team fails to make it to the state tourney or fails to do well. It is a different case, then when they choose one good player who plays on a bad team.
When they choose so many from one team, the expectations must be met or the legitimacy of the selection process is in question.

Refs, who outshot who, penalties, scoring chances........Let's condense this and put it in a nutshell. Alex went 2-3 against ranked teams, plus another loss against an unranked team. Not a stellar record for a team who was ranked #2 at one time.

Why is it that so many people have to put Alex down so much? Alex really only has 1.5 lines (if that) compared to others who have 2 to 4 all comparable lines. And 4 of them got honored for all-state. 1 getting the Herb Brooks award. What does that tell you, they work hard and stay in the game, with obvious scores at state 0-1 in OT and 3-4 in OT. Losing 1 game all season to a lower ranked team so what, that happens at all levels.
