It would be a miracle for them to beat Warroad, much less two miracle wins in a row to make the tourny...not gonna happen, sorry guy.
how can you say this... there is no way crox is better than PR. we have seen that twice now,

2 wins for PR
0 for crox

i aint sayin pr is going to be warroad, it's gonna be a great game.
but you have to realize pr is better than crox and that is why they are there

they out shot them yesterday 41-25 , beat them , and controlled the whole game from about a min 30 in when lehrke started it. i'll give crox the last 5-6 min, but if i am going to do that, well, how about the goal pr got screwed on that was clearly shot in, but instead was said to be kicked in

how can i say it? easy, if it wasn't an expected victory than why would we still be talking about it? and for the comment about warroad being just as much a one man team as PR is? What? so PR has Lehrke and Knapp (who scored the infamous "kick in" goal) and warroad just has marvin and ravndalen? Really? I think not. I'd give Marvin and just let him shadow Lehrke all night. If that is the only thing Marvin did all night that would be fine because that would shut the entire PR team down. So now you say well then there wouldn't be any production point wise from Marvin...so what, then there is Ravndalen, Hahn, Shaugabey, and why go on, clearly not a one man army...

"Crookston is the obvious sleeper in this section."

Yep, they're sleeping alright. Have fun watching the semi-finals.

Warroad is a deeper team, with more big game experience. That won't save them from a PR upset, however.

PR-3
Warroad-2

I told ya'll from day 1 this year it was gonna happen. Now sit back and enjoy.

Crox was the sleeper. Sometimes the sleeper wins, sometimes they don't. If the sleeper always won they wouldn't call them sleepers, they'd call 'em Warriors! 8)

SB24 wrote:Hey Mullet Head, read my posts, i gave Lehrke all the credit he had due. I said he played a great game, was that not correct? But on the other hand, i can see how he will be shut down against the Warriors. When you have a team set up like PR you can easily afford to put two or even three players on him (ala TRF earlier this year). They just don't have the big guns behind him to make teams pay for putting so much man power on one guy. And for those of you still thinking that Marvin won't be able to catch Lehrke, maybe you should go back and watch a recording of the Warroad v Roseau game that was on tv. It was pretty plain and simple, Marvin is one of the fastest guys on the ice...
Marvin IS NOT 1 of the fastest guys on the ice and he wasn't in that game, but if you want to think that go right ahead. He's a stud player, and I would never rip the dude the way you've torn apart Lehrke this year, but he isn't that fast. You give Lehrke credit 1 time, but you bashed him the other 894 posts you wrote. I hope you give him credit again when the vaunted Warriors from Warroad, and their Roseau goalie, get taken out by the 0%-chance-to-win-the-Section Panthers. I'll be here to eat crow if it doesn't happen, but will you?

hahahaha......true that.....Marvin is NOT that fast....he is a good player....and about Crook being a better team??WHAT??How can that be said when PR comes to THEIR barn and put them in their places....PR dominated 90% of the game yesterday...not just one man but the whole team.....and when it gets down to the end...I think the ONLY reason CRX scored those goals was because Park was intimidated by CRX's players checking from the back......crooks biggst guy looking like hes head hunting against parks team where only one player on park reaches 6ft tall and hes only a freshman......besides the point, it was disgusting to watch....they just arnt as good as a team....I thought they had a strong D before sections started...but after watching Lehrke skate around well..... their whole team...my decision has changed

:D Lehrke/PR > Pirates :D

Oh i'll be here. I've been here for a while, one game, whatever way it goes won't change it. I'm not so sure i've torn Lehrke apart. The topics were debating whether or not he was better than Marvin, it was decided that was not so, then it was whether or not he was better than Ravndalen, that i think ended in a push. Then it was something about which junior that plays baseball or something was the best hockey player...just messign with ya there, but seriously i haven't really torn him apart. I've said all along he was a good player, just not the best in the section.

Hey, SiouxRecruit, what about this freshman, McMorrow? How did he look? I've seen him and I think he's going places. Big, strong, rocket shot, sees the ice, rarely beat, stickhandle/dangle, skater and only a 9th grader. Can he slow down Warroad's boys?

Sorry, to stay with the thread--the majority picked Crox over PR and I hear PR dominated them the whole game except for the end of periods 2&3. Was that really a goal or a kick in?-- 5-3? DL, EGF,WAR,TRF have all been to the show. Come on PR, some one new. 4-3 over WAR.[/u][/i]

Yea I did notice that young star. He is VERY strong and playing first line as a freshman. He has got alot of growing to do and alot of learning. He is one defender that will stop alot of Warroads "strong" players. He did dangle the puck and carried it up the ice when necessary the times i watched. He will go places and he will be the guy on the ice that everyone is talking about....give it a few years

So if you give up 3 to Crox then you will give up 6 to Warroad. on the defensive side They are big strong and can skate. Lerke is a fine player but will not have his way with the strong defensman from Warroad. Warroad will do some serious banging of body's.

Warroad 6
Park 2

Time for me to make a call on this one.

I see Warroad executing the "Hundred Hits" gameplan with surgical precision here. Crox had heavy legs on Thursday so Park will find the Civic to be less generous with its time and space on Sabado De la noche.

Warroad 4, Park Rapids 2

Warroads physical play shuts downs PR. Although Lehrke get a goal and an assist they still loose 5-2. Marvin get 2 goals and an assist.

Yes, we could possibly see the "Hundred Hits" being used by the Warroad Warriors Saturday Night. The Civic Center on saturday night will have blood flowing like the rivers of ancient babylon.

Warroad - 4
Park Rapids - 3

It's more wishful thinking than anything. People want to see some new blood in St. Paul. It's not that hard to pick Warroad every game.

Besides, if Warroad had balls they'd be in AA with their arch rivals trying to oust Moorhead every year. Since they don't seem to want to schedule the middle to lower tier teams in 8A, I honestly don't know what they're waiting for. Every team wants to play the best, and I understand that, but if you're so much better than to not schedule half the teams in your Section, why are you still in Class A?

Crookston had heavy legs because they were racing around trying to catch the better team on the ice. They're just lucky it wasn't worse than it was. As others have noted, little 2-3 min rallies by Crookston could be costly for PR against the Warriors. If PR doesn't play 51 full mins, Warroad will send them home crying. Smith must stand on his head for PR. If Roseau's(I mean Warroad's) goalie isn't on top of his game and let's in a couple softies, PR could pull off their biggest win in school history.
