I agree with Hightower. The #1 line with 110 points is not something anyone should ignore but I hope everyone does. There is nobody GREAT in this section and nobody is a lock. Richfield took Hill to ovetime. Other than last game, they play STA tough. Admittably, Richfield is a sleeper but an expectation and attitude that you so-called hockey experts display is the perfect recipe for an upset. Hopefully your opinions will rub off on STA.

Pressure is on STA, they have a target on their back every game. They aren't the same team as last year with Schroder. Still a long shot for Richfield, but by no means impossible. Should be interesting to see how this unfolds.
Interesting.... Without Schroeder, They have a better record and are Co-Conference champs with Hill...

Hill isn't the team they were last year nor are many of the teams St Thomas played. St Thomas' overall ability is probably a little more than last year, but not having Shroeder hurts. You can't argue that it was good for the team to have him gone. We don't need to argue it, but having the kid who was leading the U17 team and have been moved up to play in many of the U18 team's game at the NTDP would not hurt any team.
I sent hightower a message but he has yet to respond. My point wasn't that Richfield won't score (I was very surprised at St Thomas putting up more goals against Guggs than the back up) but that it is hard to find a good argument for how they will score more than St Thomas (which might I remind you is what is required to win a hockey game).
Anyone know what Guggs is doing next year.

The one thing you can't put into your mouthrunner equation- ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN, on any given night, thats why it is called an upset.
DO I need to bring up the 80 Olympic team. There is no explanation for it, it just happens. I know it hard for you to grasp, but thats how it goes.
Does that help explain things for you crotcher?

No, it doesn't help explain anything I didn't already know. I have been one to say that to many other people in the past.
As for the 80 Olympics, there's a reason they called it a Miracle and why the people who did bet on them probably didn't have to work much more.
For example, if St Thomas played Holy Angels, sure, St Thomas could win, yes, anything can happen, but more likely than not, Holy Angels would win. It's the same thing here. I've been asking a question that doesn't seem to be able to be answered and has yet to be. In this game I would have no reason to say that St Thomas would score more goals than Holy Angels, just as there is no reason I can think of, or that anyone else has said, aside from multiple LUCKY bounces, that Richfield would win.
Yes, anything's possible, I'll give you that. Why don't you go into the 3A thread and start talking to the people who say LeCrescent will get blown out of the water the way you are talking to me because anything can happen?

You just answered your own question, MORON. There is NO REASON, it just happens. One team scores more than the other( which is how a team wins, if I need to remind you).

Man. A 4-3 OT win against Northfield, they are so going to take St Thomas to town.

Northfield isn't a bad team, and its the playoffs. HSHock, you should really stop running your mouth. Guess happens when you get a huge head and go into a game underestimating your opponent.
Apple Valley beats Holy Angels
It wasn't a miracle, one team played better than the other. How much better was AHA in the regular season? You couldn't even compare them. All those two losses to STA did was give Richfield an even bigger reason to play the game of their lives in sections. You get an unlucky bounce and suddenly all your plans for state are down the toilet...

Yeah, there's a thread for comments like that.
4-3 OT over Northfield. They'll probably just hand it to St Thomas.

Richfield hasn't played a very good brand of hockey lately, (maybe the last 4 or five games) sub par even for their standards.
So you boys are
due!
Good thing about next game, all the pressure is on STA!
State berth is being handed to STA on a platter.
Richfield
doesn't belong in the same building as STA!
I'm I right

You realize nearly every person on minnhock doesnt like you. You are arogant and you make dumb comments to the point of us wondering if you even played the game yourself. You would think with all the posts you have made people would have respect for you and that you would actually know something about the game, but thats just not true.

One thing about the playoffs is that the last four games doesn't matter. And yes all the pressure is on STA... nobody thought Richfield had a chance to do anything this year. Kinda like the Breck game a few years back when Breck was going to kill them. They owned Richfield in the regular season too...

Why is everyone talking like Guggs is the best goalie in the state?! He hasn't proven anything as of late except the Hill game (STA just beat Hill). He let in 4 goals against Northfield's offense which is not spectacular offensive power. STA has Crandall who is equal to Guggenberger. Plus, STA has this thing called offense which Richfield lacks... 110 pts. against Mpls. West, Como Park, Minnehaha Academy, etc....
STA 4
Richfield 1

No, I know people don't respect me because the vast majority of people on here went to a public school. But everything I say is either a fact or my opinion. I have never made anything up and put it on here.
No, I was never a hockey player, and would probably get skated circles around by Sleepy Eye's players. There are people on ESPN who make money off talking football who have probably never touched a football. I know a lot about hockey and ask questions about things I don't. If you haven't noticed about my posts (something you pick up at the only private, all guys school) is I don't care what people think.
As for my thinking that a team my high school defeated 4-0 and 3-0 won't win tomorrow is wrong. I'm sorry if you think otherwise. I will be there tomorrow and hope it's a good game. I have nothing against the Richfield players, I only think St Thomas will win and have asked the same question many times with only the "morals will be high" answer. But after St thomas beat them worse with Guggs IN net, I'm skeptical. We'll see.

And you ALWAYS need to have the last word on everything. You are starting to get like Bash Brother used to be. Nothing you say has to do with hockey and it is just telling me that the things I say are wrong when you never have anything to say aside from things that turn out to be untrue "Richfield will do better with Guggs in net..." Need I say more?
