I wonder if Duluth East bring up 4,5, or 6 bantams early to high school this year again they did it 4 out of the last 6 years. Or heck, why not the entire Bantam AA squad. That would stir things up a bit.

East did not have a very good BAA team last year, so they are in trouble if they are bringing up a large portion of that group.

They had a very good PeeWee group last year. Went to State but drew a tough Minnetonka team first game. Roseau was the other North Representative.
They haven't had a good Bantam AA team in years. Randolph prefers to bring the top kids in house. Debatable but can't argue with the results.

Bardown, thats a nice list of the 7AA top kids for each position.
Even with early departs, 7AA will have lots of talent and be fun to watch. Looking forward to seeing the kids in Elite League and at regular season games in the metro. Also, the final game at Amsoil on WDIO stream will be on my schedule.. Right now I would bet Andover vs Rapids. Im still a little unconvinced about Andover goaltending situation, will have to see how things develop. Whoever wins, 7AA will be tough out at the X.
Im expecting Kaiser will win Reed Larson. And he and Wolfe are in running for my top first D pair in the state, with Boltmann/Nick Williams and Middlestadt/Langenbrunner likely in the same class as a first pair . Middlestadt probably the best D in the state individually, but hes a junior. Oberle and Schweitzer and Peart also would be in the running individually.

I would agree on Andover/Rapids in the 7AA final. AndoverEast in Semi and Rapids/CEC in the other. Of course I would like CEC heading to state, but I do think it’s unlikely. Could it happen? Absolutely !!!

NEVER write of Randolph at East. As long as he is coach the Hounds are always in the top mix. He has done it before with a empty cupboard(2014/2015). If Hounds gotten rid of the disgruntled they will be in the hunt as always.

Shae Walters 2nd consecutive year at the helm for CEC. It will be interesting to see if everything comes together in year two. Or if it’s going to take another year or so to put his imprint on the program.

Yes. Most student athletes up here are multi sport. There wouldn’t be many kids at captains practice if it started September 30th.

There are programs in the 218 that are starting now. They just do it later in the evening when the boys can go home from fall sport practice, eat, and do some homework first.

All I know is for CEC, if a student/athlete is participating in a sport, they don’t participate in another at the same time, Eli captains practice. I’ve been watching captains practice for 10 years. There are never football or soccer or volleyball(girls) athletes skating until the sport their currently in is completed. It must be a rule here only.

Duluth East had a PeeWeeAA kiddo on their HS squad last year so he must be crazy good. And that is why he’s playing high school puck when he’s 13. Anybody now the details on this kiddo. His mite, squirt, and peewee numbers. Grant Winkler
