East spent basically the entire game in possession of the puck, sometimes cycling well, sometimes cycling for the sake of cycling, and but never quite looking like the well-oiled machine we've seen at times, despite the seeming total domination. A goal was waved off with about 2 minutes left in OT; I didn't see the goalie interference, but whatever. They shouldn't have needed that anyway. The trip to Minnetonka next week will be an adventure.
East peppers the net a lot with easy save shots hoping for a juicy rebound. That is their game. SOG overated stat when it comes to East.
Get em going Knivsy!

Lee, I see Andover's 8-2 mark, albiet with a weak schedule is still good for the 2 seed. Schedule picks up now, next 5 games:
Elk
CEC
Centennial
Grove
Spud

We were looking at their upcoming schedule today at work (during break, of course!) and it's brutal. They could end up close to .500 heading into the section playoffs.

CEC will be in Andover Thursday for another 7AA matchup. Hopefully they come out of there with a win....

So, does it appear GR is growing? Or are they pretty lost right now? It sounds like some frustrations were showing late in the Andover game. I will be interested to hear of any insights from wise hockey observers.
Oh yeah, so you missed me Northwoods Old Fool! Yes, I have a full life that keeps me plenty busy. You should probably get a hobby other than obsessing about the activities director at Grand Rapids. You are getting kind of creepy and coming off like a stalker. If she ever met you, I am guessing you made no impression at all, so get over your crush. You sound pathetic.
As a start on a better life, ask your PCA to change your Depends. That should help cheer you up.

I don't have a great hockey mind by any stretch of the imagination but since I have been on here regularly for the past couple of seasons when things were going good I feel obligated to be available when things are a little rougher.
It does appear that GR is making some headway from the early season. After the first few games it looked pretty bleak but of late they have been improved. While they are still being out shot most games they have narrowed that gap. As expected they have gotten very good goal tending. Holum is just flat out very good and Clafton has played excellent also. If they can gain some confidence in moving the puck out of their own end and create a few more scoring chances they should continue to make strides as the season goes on.
That's a pretty generic analysis but it's the best I can do right now.

Andover, CEC, and Rapids fighting for the 4th seed? Forest Lake seems like they have a decent team too. Franny and C/I never quite sure....

Grand, Thanks for the insights. I've been away for a while, so haven't seen them since the Edina Classic.
I did talk to a few of the parents/grand parents of the players and they report the boys like HC 'Nuch and feel good about his coaching. The only "complaint" I heard is that the boys think he could be harder on them. If his frustration builds, perhaps they will get that from him.
At any rate, it is encouraging to hear you think they are getting better. They started the season with quite a gut-punch, so perhaps they are recovering and finding their resilience.

This group of kids have grown up playing with some guys who had ridiculous talent. Once they get the confidence to realize they are more than good enough to get it done, they will be fine. You can see it happening as the season goes.

Is this possible? CEC is in trouble. They are still my boys though.

Kniven, lets see how CEC does against DM on Tuesday. Marshall may be a bit tired from MG, but the Jacks have a way of getting hyped up for the big games. Always have, always will. They have a way of removing the records and removing any precedent from important games.

I think you mean Duluth Marshall on Tuesday.

Yeah. I’m such a huge fan. I feel bad for the kids. Life’s not easy.

I wouldn't get to worried yet Kniven. Late February is a long way off . Pretty likely CEC is one of the 4 on semi final Saturday. Once you get there- anything could happen. Hang in there and enjoy the season. I think you will be happy late winter.

Sorry Kniven!
I was right on this one , home game with seeding possibly at stake , bus ride for the Jacks , and coach Manney was ready . Also predictably , the outcome produces more Section 7 drama!

CEC got taken to the wood shed. Why isn't all the youth talent translating to wins? Team seems to be pretty inconsistent with some ugly losses. What is going on in CEC? Figured them to contest for a number 2 in 7AA this year.

Taken to wood shed and beat! Nice job Andover and Menne being prepared and ready to go. No so much CEC and Smalley, no excuses.
