It's been looking that way for awhile. Goalie pulled for East, CDH scores an empty netter.
Props to the Raiders.

Everyone needs to read this post and recognize how to take a loss with some class.
You're a stand-up dude, Lee.
Many, many teams would like to be where your Hounds are.
I wish more people would sit back and enjoy the ride these guys give us, instead of wasting time bashing sections, teams, players, and ideas.
There were some blow-outs in the opening round, but the semis have the potential to be awesome, starting with some great A games Friday. Enjoy.

Thanks. It'll be tough to watch the final AA semi tomorrow (but I'll be pulling for the Spuds) Class A semis and the first AA semi will be a blast.
This isn't the toughest loss I've seen East take in my years of following them, but it's tough from the standpoint of knowing that this was probably the best team they'd had since 1997-98. Next year will be a rebuilding year.
Good luck to all teams tomorrow! Dreams are what this is about. The memories are there for the taking.

Don't know if this would be much of a "bored" without that hostility.
Keep it up, haters!

Final Score should be
Walsh-5 DE-2
What a game by that kid, he stays hot in this tourney cretin could make a run for it, i think tomorrow's game will be a hard hitting close one, both teams are the feel good stories this year.

Wow that was a joke Cretin never should have never had a chance in that game East was by far the better team. But I guess this is the state tourny and anything can happen and congrats to the raiders on their big win tonight.
P.S no I'm not a pissed off Hounds fan

Looked to me like it was in before the whistle, and it looked like it was rolling around in his plain view before that. I'm not trying to stir the pot but it was probably the boost they needed.

Congratulations to the Raiders, and good luck against Moorhead.
The Hounds played a great game, got solid pressure, but couldn't put it home. Credit CDH's goalie for a stellar game. Tomorrow's Edina-East game should be a fun one to watch.
Good luck to the rest of the teams in the winner's bracket in St. Paul. This tourney has been enjoyable to watch, and I look forward to the rest of the week.

Does anyone that watched this game on tv know why the goal by tardy was waved off? I was 15 rows up and i thought that was a goal for sure!

Hey cretin is riding a hot streak at the right time. I think they are like 13-1 in their last 14. Can't count them out against anyone

I was at the game and was really impressed with Duluth East. The first 10 minutes of the game was some of the most dominating hockey by Duluth East that I have seen. Cretin's goalie played amazing and obviously kept them in the game. Then Cretin scored in what seemed like their first trip into the offensive zone, no one could believe it. Then they scored again immediately and at that point the shots were something like 15-3. DE was very physical and I was very impressed with their defensemen. Overall, it was a great game to watch, there so many scoring chances. Good luck to Cretin.

i think it was because of the early whistle by the ref. he didnt see the puck or thought walsh had it under control.

Cretin's goalie was superb, East's defense wasn't. cretin didn't have many chances but the few they did there were no Hounds anywhere near the slot, maybe they gave up backchecking for Lent.
This past week the 1 game I was really looking forwards to was Edina and Duluth East, after Edina came out and laid an egg (Great game by Moorhead, even better defensive play) I was a bit disapointed but now I get to see it at Marriucci. If those two don't get better defense and goaltending it could have a football score with all that offensive talent.

Me neither. This might be the worst final 4 ever. Cretin is not in their league...and you can't make up that call by the ref..can't make it up..obvious complete goal w/ the goalie sprawling all over the place and he blows the whistle to show he's in charge. Wow. I agree also...i don't even think the whistle came before the goal. They won the game..but no thought on who played better..

or he's just a clown box???? Why would you ever have an early whistle..was he worried the goalie was going to get run over..no..no one was near him. The ref absolutely interfered w/ the game...as usual.

Well, that was not the way I expected this run to end.
While the section final against Elk River showed all the best traits of this season's East team, this one showed all their flaws. Matt Cooper is an excellent goalie when he's on, but sadly, did not have his best nights when most needed. This team has a heap of talented forwards, but only one serious goal-scorer. Both Tardy and Forbort, who shined against ER, looked like they were trying to do far too much by themselves. Randolph's win-at-all-costs mentality came out sharply in the 3rd, as he pulled the senior goalie for the sophomore, put Forbort at forward for the whole period, and switched up the lines too. I won't judge whether that was good or bad, but it was striking.
Congrats to Cretin for solid goalie play and opportunism, which is the formula to beat East.
Congrats to the East fans, too. With all objectivity I can say that East's student section was the best in all 4 quarterfinals; they out-cheered several teams combined.
For the team, I won't write a requiem yet, because the season is not over. Tomorrow's East-Edina game might be one of the greatest consolation matchups ever; I was hoping to see these two match up, though not in this format. I'm definitely looking forward to the game at Mariucci tomorrow, and I hope I see a bunch of East fans there.

whatever you say hoops. obviously it was a bad call but it happens. human error occurs all the time in this game. sometimes its by players, other times its the refs.

All that i have to say is that Walsh played one of the best games i've ever seen him play. By no means would i consider myself a CDH fan, (I like STA) but i grew up with some of those kids and love Walsh to death. Stellar job. reminded me alot of the STA Mahtamedi game a hot goalie can take you far in March. Congrats to CDH
